(Spoilers) Actually, Alma Wade IS your mother, she gave birth to both "You" and Paxton Fettel in a hospitol, but she was killed later on to prevent her telepathic powers from causing harm. But since she was killed intentionally, she wants revenge on everyone and she plans to do that through "You" and Paxton Fettel.

Also, the older Alma tries to rid of you, while the younger one protects and saves you.
