I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy done when I was 11. I had to drink that stuff but it was cherry, nasty, salty, acidy, cherry stuff. And it makes me mad that these grown-ups are whining about how hard it is to do that. I was 11 and I didn't whine cause so much had happened to me ( Really long story go to kadybugged.blogspot.com to read first part of story ). I told myself I was luckey to be alive. That's just awful to think a child would have to say that. And also I could only drink water.

I just had my first colonoscopy today. I was a little nervous at the thought of having that tube inserted all the way in my colon. They gave me an intravenous demerol to relax. I knew at the time they were doing it. After that, no pain. Only side effect was grogginess and inability to speak.

Glad to just get it done and over with

I had a colonoscopy yesterday afternoon and my prep involved 3 dulcolax pills and 3 packets of pico-salax mixed with water. I get the resuts on January 28th.

I just want to say, I am drinking the electrilytes with eh biscodyl tablets and the solution isnt that bad if you follow the directions. You are supposed to shake it well until the ingredients are completely dissolved. When you do that, it just tastes like water with some salt in it.

I've had two, and the only pain I experienced was the insertion of the cath needle. Otherwise, the drugs they gave me made me so loopy that the procedure was over before I knew it had begun. And I suffered no post-procedure pain either.
