FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY DOES NOT WORK ON PROJECTED IMAGES. Those people will get home to find a nice collection of images of a blank projection screen in a well lit room.
Wow, back in the 90s' people criticized about products "Made in Taiwan." now they produce some of the world's most astounding processors and integrated chips.
1 st of all i see this as a LIE ! becouse i have a shitty Netbook with crappy intel GMA graphics and it plays videos verry well !!!! so dont tell me the net book wont play a video :)) , back in 1998 i played with my intel P1 100 mhz cpu 32 mb ram VooDoo 1 graphics card videos with no probem , and dont tell me that a NoteBook will play like that the video LIEERRSSS !!!!!
m8 they are talking about the streaming video (internet tv etc) netbooks cant do that as you will know but normal video play back is by no means a problem i mean mobile phone can play video lol XD
Sure your netbook can play videos well. But I'm also sure that it can't play 720p HD videos on Youtube fluently.
Tegra, as the name suggests, is an integrated GPU solution that provides hardware support for applications that might otherwise use alot of CPU power. (That's what I think...LOL)
Your old PC could play videos, and I'm very aware of that. However, can it play DVD quality videos? I don't think so.
I dont have my old pc anymore i sold it , now i have well a kinda old pc i bought in 2004 , with an intel p4 3000 mhz cpu and it plays 720P movies gr8 , but it doesnt plays 1080p :( , and i bought a laptop ( Gateway 7809u FX ) with Intel core 2 duo P8700 2..53 ghz and it plays perfectly 1080p videos !!! :X
@turtledogg Yes, the nVidia Tegra2-250 SoC is capable to playback and encode H.264/MPEG-4 AVC "Main Profile" only. (mpeg4 for phone cams and some hand cameras)
But on the further profiles such as High profile that used by HDTV streaming / bluray /mkv / divx hd / Flash FLV 3.0 etc. this chipset starts to struggle badly. | Rival chips such as Qualcomm Snapdragon or Samsung Exynos / Orion can crunch it much better - Even as they're single core chips | They have 0.85W TDP too.
I really think u need to make it compatible with windows xp apps like current netbooks are today. This will in itself allow users to customize also and such. So what if it can do a lot of videos it still has to serve as a netbook. But then again no viruses but I still just want it to be compatible with windows xp stuff
I still dont think that the zune HD is going to have super crazy awesome battery life, because when people ask during the Zune HD demonstrations, they always say that there not ready to announce that yet and they are working on it.
I would think that if it has badass battery life, they would be bragging like crazy right now.
maybe they are Trying to make sure you get the best battery when they finally release it so if they would announce it now they would have to stick with that battery they announced
To have run HD video on 350mw of power is INSANE! I think Nvidia is going to set the bar on mobile computing and low power consumption. No other mobile platform can do so much with so little.
totally. NVIDIA is bringing a platform to the market, i am dreaming of for almost a decade. This little piece of hardware has the potential to change the world of mobile computing as we know it.
It's just a more efficient platform. It's nothing revolutionary, but it certainly is impressive, and an excellent example of how to improve upon existing technologies.

If the Moto Olympus is $199, is on ATT, and has even half decent battery life, I am so getting it.
(It has Tegra 2)

My old computer couldn't even play 720p. My current laptop, even with DualCore 2.1GHz and dedicated GPU, still can't play 1080p.
While my friend's PC with an AMD ATHLON64 1.8GHz single core and shitty GPU can play 1080 without problems. Damn.

i know i have a friend that has a laptop with an AMD turion rm60 2.0 ghz and it cannot play 720p movies smothly ...

Nvidia has been showing this for 18 months. EIGHTEEN MONTHS, with no smartphones announced yet.
I mean I love Tegra. But if they wait any longer, their already old CPU will be unacceptably aged.

ZUNE HD can keep run a movie in HD format for 10 continous hours !!
or you can run normal video on the new zune HD for 22 hours
it has really super crazy awesome battery life

Yeah. Nvidia's Tegra uses about 2 watts at maximum power. I heard that Nintendo will use the 2nd gen Tegra in the next DS portable.
