@trelogatsoulo ROYAL HUNT and their former lead singer DC COOPER mutually decided to reunite - for a very few selected dates – in order to perform the entire “Paradox” (their first concept album from 1997) and several of “everybody’s all-time favourite” songs from that period. For information about the shows keep an eye on the “Tour Dates” section.
thank you for letting us know about that great news.It is posted on their official site on 3rd of February.I hope they make it to Greece again this 2011!!!
One thing about this song that's quite unique is that you just can't single out a single part as your favorite like most songs that have a hook or a catchy solo. This song is best enjoyed when listening to from start to finish. Anyone else agree?
boals is shit ,old no strenght.cooper has all the prescence and scene a front man should have.besides the most incredible skills a singer may have!west was awsome too.but no stage.
@masterpatric07 You are comparing a young DC Cooper vs an old Mark Boals, that is just plain stupid. Go listen to Yngwie Malmsteen - Leonardo and prepare to get your face blown with his singing. DC Cooper is also getting old, check out his recent concerts...so is Halford and many others. Show some respect. Mark Boals was not shit, is not shit and will never be shit. Your comments are on the contrary, shit.
@malaimaren10 i am saying he was a shadow of what it used to be.if a singer is old and he is not at his best should retire, halford is old and he is still the man.
The song is about the Black Death. The plague began spreading across Europe in the year 1348. The month December seems arbitrary. Notice the line "Black Death all around the place" at 3:18.
Was actually one of the topics, that we discussed some times in ma' old Dream Theater jam. What the hell was the singer supposed to do in the long instrumental parts? ^^
Yeah, that's definetly a problem in many bands....Longer instrumental breaks without the singer looking like a moron xD
I kinda like the way DT does it, with Labrie just leaving the stage....And coming back after a while, I even do that with my own band some times. Some times he does the tamburine as well, and what can I say, guess that's ok, even though I've never seen it properly micked during Labries wild tambo-dash parts, so what's really the use besides the visuals... xD
But if the singer comes back on stage too late too miss his part...OOPS! If anyones ever seen the Cheap Trick vid for Dream Police then you know Zander timed it just right as the instro section was finishing!
This song was written in the vein of Iron Maiden's "Phantom of the Opera" and Megadeth's "Wake up dead". Not too many songs are written with a short verse followed by a long instrumental break and another verse at the end.
este tema es de lo mejor que se ha compuesto en este estilo!!! realmente increible estos casi 5 min.
siempre que escuxo la cancion no puedo evitar sentir un escalofrio que recorre todo mi cuerpo.

cORNERSTONE IS GREAT BUT NOTHING SEMS TO BE IN THE HORIZON, AND COOPER IS DOING SHITTY BANDS, AND WEST IS DISSAPEARED.

@CavemanJesus4Life Same reason we say "April of '92" or "the Election of 84" And b/c English is not the band's first language ^_^

Thanks for sharing! This particular track in the 1996 live album is one of the songs that actually turn me on to heavy metal. Magic!
