One thing about this song that's quite unique is that you just can't single out a single part as your favorite like most songs that have a hook or a catchy solo. This song is best enjoyed when listening to from start to finish. Anyone else agree?

The song is about the Black Death. The plague began spreading across Europe in the year 1348. The month December seems arbitrary. Notice the line "Black Death all around the place" at 3:18.

Yeah, that's definetly a problem in many bands....Longer instrumental breaks without the singer looking like a moron xD

I kinda like the way DT does it, with Labrie just leaving the stage....And coming back after a while, I even do that with my own band some times. Some times he does the tamburine as well, and what can I say, guess that's ok, even though I've never seen it properly micked during Labries wild tambo-dash parts, so what's really the use besides the visuals... xD

This song was written in the vein of Iron Maiden's "Phantom of the Opera" and Megadeth's "Wake up dead". Not too many songs are written with a short verse followed by a long instrumental break and another verse at the end.
