Nice voice and great guitar picking!!! Your facial expressions are very nice too. You picked a beautiful song for the dance, hang in there, you are the best.
Pretty!!! It's been long and long since I heard this done right! All we need now is leaves burning, some milk can supper, and it would be like home again!
I was taught this song back in the mid-eighties in elementary school, and every now again it becomes stuck in my head again. This time around I looked at YouTube for a fix. Thanks for giving a middle-aged Missouri boy a good dose of his state's song.
Absolutely lovely voice... please keep the songs coming. Also love the song. I heard it as an answer on Jeopardy and I was curious about it. Well worth the search and listening to your version.
You have a beautiful voice and I love your cover of the Johnny Cash version. Would you would mind posting the chords if you have them available. Thanks
Nice song from a very pretty lady! It seems that this venerable old classic is almost always heard as an insturmental. Its good to hear the lyrics for a change.
this is just great!! harry truman brought this old "missourah" back to fame on the piano while president. my dad - from hermitage in hickory county - loved this song!! so do i, and i love the way you sang it. five stars!!
I am a Hoosier, but Mom was born & raised in Sullivan County, Missourah... I often listen to this young lady sing this piece; part of the beauty is the guitar and voice, but her face is so tenderly expressive, it makes me feel the lyrics.
Technically, both versions are right. The confusion comes from the Missouri Indian Tribe. Different sects of the tribe would say the name differently. I use both versions depending on the situations I'm in.

What a nice job!
A comment or two made about the "revised' lyrics. In fact, you could hear the COLLIER KIDS back in the mid '50s using the revised words...
Back in the original version...it was "the darkies were humming.." instead of "the old folks"...That's ok..

Hi Stacey!
your voice is so sweet! You're definitely a J. Cash's daughter !
And... your voice reminds me Edith Piaf, i don't know why.
Nice to meet you,

No, actually only rural Missourians say "Missourah." Urban Missourians and young people say "Missouree."
