The real M21 was just a national match spec rifle with a scope, still had the wood stock. The rifle in the game is really the Marine Corps Designated Marksman Rifle with the McMillan fiberglass stock, which has now been replaced with the M39 Enhanced Marksman Rifle. So basically we were both partially wrong and, as usual, the game was completely wrong!

The M82 doesn't just kill you in real life... most people seem to think that since its a strong gun in real life means that you just die from it. That gun will definitely put you on the ground but you wont necessarily die from it.

The M14 is a lighter rifle for Recon and Special Operations. It uses smaller rounds so it can hold more ammo. The M21, however uses larger rounds and is used from afar to kill enemies in firefights. It has bigger shells to kill enemies faster. The M14 in multiplayer would take 4-5 shots to get a kill.
