Wouldnt it be better to send the bonds with a high ranking Japanese diplomat? I presume they wouldnt have been searched. And surely there's an electronic means of depositing the bonds. Wierd.

So, these instruments appear to be real. There are serial numbers than can be verified.
1) Bearer Bonds have not been officially issued in the USA since 1985.
2) It is unlikely that there are many Bearer bonds still out there.
3) So, if these things are real that means the US Tresury Department has been issuing 'off the book' debt in strict violation of US law.

Either that, or another nation is secretly trying to get out of the dollar by selling bonds issued from the 1960s or so.
Either way (your analysis or mine) means it's a shotgun blast to the chest type wound to the US dollar and the economy.
And, of course, the US is not even mentioning this on the news, like it never happened. That's why I think it's authentic and real.
