  • i tried it, it worked thanks!!!!!!

  • i tried it it worked thanks!!!!!!!!

  • wow that looks hard im trying to find a 70m ethernet cable for my xbox live any ideas where i can buy one? (in england)

  • Regarding nots, Is it mean that each end had a different sort?

  • Can u ell me the color set?

  • where do you get the plastic thingys at the end?

  • Thank you very much for this, saved me quite a bit of money (cable by the foot + crimpers) compared to buying long premade ones.

  • Why do you tell us the order of the wires? As long as they match on both ends it doesn't matter what color order they are in...

  • THe order of the wires is important for consistency. When you make a crossover, it helps to remember which wires to cross, and it avoids confusion when you have to make more than ten of these (which is a frequent occurance for network administrators and other PC technicians.) HOWEVER, you are correct, the color of the wire does not effect it's conductability.

  • actually that last part is wrong. it also matters because of the the way the wires twist in the cable. if you put opposing wires in a pair it reduces distance and speed

  • can these straight through cables work on xbox 360 for xbox live????

  • Again, sorry I take so long to respond... Yes, it will work with the Xbox, as the Xbox is actually a computer.

  • will this work for an Xbox 360 mine did not come with an ethernet cable and im trying to make my own

  • Will it work if i combine two ethernet cables together?

  • Sorry I take so long to respond to comments... I don't check that email address often. Yes, but it is not recommended as it leaves one more area for error or malfunction.

  • yeh like make sweet bombs and other things like that :)

  • How much voltage does ethernet use?

  • Spec is I believe between 2.2V and 2.8V.

  • how could I download this video, please let me know. thanks

  • pls post more educational videos..

you tube is very has and have everything that i need.. thanks

  • The string is a pull string, if you want to be certain not to cut the conductors insulation, you can grab the string with your needle nose pliers and pull the string down to split the outer jacket of the cable

  • thanks man :)

  • Nice and educative, youtube must be full of such kind of videos!

  • very nice video

  • tkanks man, video came in usefull

  • Excellent video. Very helpful.

  • just out of curiosity do you know what the purpose of that "silky braid", bc it does have a purpose its not there just to be in the way?

  • Yes it does serve a purpose, i am told it is used to feed in the machine as well as provide space between the wires. More than that, i don't know.

  • the braid i was told will add some strength to the cable so it is not just solid wire inside

  • Ahh, that also makes sense. Thanks for the input :)

  • thanks for the help, man.

    Really appreciated

  • Good one!

  • thanks for the help, man.
