I interviewed three developers who made this game. Told them to take that exact environment, and they can do anything they want with it....accept make it a first person shooter.. Thats when everybody looses their minds!!! Three years later, they responded with this:

Bob- "Thats impossible!"

Charles- "What the hell man!"

William- "This is bullshit!"

Verdict: They weren't creative enough.

It is a mod, created by a private team in the community called Toltec Studios. Mods such as this are basically games made for free by the fans, anyone who owns UT3 already can download them and play them. This particular mod is an entry in the 1 million dollar Make Something Unreal Contest and quite successful so far, it has placed first or in the top 3 in each phase so far.

@VoxHouseStudio For most of such games you dont actually need UT3 to play it as they indeed are separate games. The only thing in common is the game engine and graphics engine used (UT3 engine) to make those games.

@xzminx You're missing the point. The Ball started life as a UT3 mod. Yes it is NOW a stand-alone game, but assuming that it always was is just flat-out wrong.
