Being in the helicopter is WAYYYYY more fun than chasing them on ground. Especially when they take off with the blindfold on. lol. We do the same thing at Southwest Texas Junior College. It's pretty much what I live for :)
Whats really cool about this video is the use of the netgun from a helicopter. Down in south Florida, this technique is used, but only in open terrain. South Florida is a heavily forested habitat. But they can get these deer into the open praries and grasslands of the Big Cypress and Everglades. The downside to that is the water - the deer can drown. Any research of mammals in Florida lends these risks. One of my bobcats almost drowned when the chase dogs engaged it in a swamp.
Just got back from freer TX on a deer capture with the TAMUK wildlife society, deer captures are such a rush!
