  • What is the name of the song played near the end of this video?

  • just stop eating seafood problem solved :D

  • never eaten any type of seafood in my life. not even canned tuna.

  • Nice attempt to illuminate the most important issues in fisheries and aquaculture ...even if some important facts aren't mentioned. Definitely worth watching!

I give a thumbs up for a pretty good executed broadcast!

    ps. I m an aquaculture scientist =)

  • fish are faggots

  • @gpay88

    so you´re a fish i guess?

  • at the end of the day, 1st, 2nd an 3rd world nations are all to blame

because most fishing that is done is not sustainable

look at australia with its protected waters and harsh penalties for other nations fishing in its waters, and yet our fish farms in tasmania are causing as much problems to oceanas mining the oceans

everything the human race does is unsustainable and this reductionalist bullshit will not save us from exponential growth as lauded by western capitalism and destruction it brings

  • @bartekklimczak

How are Tasmanian fish farms causing problems?

  • Overpopulation is the story of the tragedy of the commons. Asia is fucked, Japan is a dead zone, so is most of europe, the only reason why africa ad south american have any fisheries left is because they are too busy fighting over natural resources to build decent boats, but yes they are not above selling it off by th local imperialist backed elites

what most people dont know is the great barrier reef came very close to extinction due to overfishing

  • @bartekklimczak I do not mean to attack Chinese in such candidness but they eat everything. Dogs, every kind of fish, wild animals, etc. They are quickly devouring their resources to feed the burgeoning population. There needs to be control from all the governments to control population growth, if not, this earth will very soon perish along with humanity.

  • @MrSmiles4miles

i would defend the chinese , they are in fact the ONLY country who has taken effort to not only control their population but are also controlling as best they can their ecological destruction

i think the other 6 billion have to share the blame

especially western imperialism, going into other country's territories both aquatic and land and stripping their resources.to sell to other nations

australia with its 20 million is to blame as global footprint is huge as is export economy

  • If you read Jared Diamond's collapse you would know most fisheries have in fact already collapsed

Any remaining fisheries are only there by first world conservation who can afford it, or the technology of certain 2nd and 3rd world nations does not allow them to reach the wildest places

  • @Calvinatorns as I see it we are all to blame,

    1. You have the men/ woman going out fishing for the fish,

    2. Governments lake of tighter regulations,

    3. Too many people & not enough food,

    4. No one not wanting to change,

    5. Playing the blame game & not fixing the problem.

  • I am a recreational fisherman and this movie really opened my eyes!

  • me, i'm NOT responsible ! So glad to be vegan

Just do it ! U can still eat spaghetti, frites, sorbet ice cream, vegan hamburgers/ nuggets / fishsticks of REDWOOD

The seamammels and fish can't wait any longer ....can't U see by now ....

  • @elioke

don't say that you're not responsible. I hate when anyone regardless vegan or not takes a standpoint like "Oh not my fault". We're all responsible. Just because you're not eating fish yourself, doesn't mean you're not responsible. We can all do more, (ie. protesting) and regardless of who's responsible, the blame game won't matter if the fish become extinct...all of the world will suffer, vegan or not.

  • @MichaelBallack91 . Like it or not - i'm not the one to blame by being vegan AND an activist for animals/ nature for more than 20 years .....Excelly U are ! by being a so called human being with brains and still eating products and fish nevertheless knowing the facts ....U can wait and talk about issues or act ! that's the difference between U and me

  • @elioke gluttony plays a bigger role in this, the simple fact that more than 50% of food in a average house hold buys ends up in the trash.

Vegans put strain on different food sources eg. water for plants more of a matter of better farming practice and GM food being more accepted.

  • 0.32 - hehehehehe - a black chinese ...:-D

  • The film is awful but excellent. I cant copy it-guess why! Like so many 'controversial' Truths -they dont want us 2 copy (for education) for people like me to give away! even movie makers R parasites coz they want the MONEY. Without greed in fishing, food and gluttony industry THEY can't make the film! I want to spread the word (film), they just want the money. BE Anti-Copyright-Knowledge is everyones natural inherited, Right & its built on each generation by each of us in all fields.

  • the logical solution is to lessen the consumer of fishes. human crawled the earth like a malignant viruses, devouring every resource along the way. these activists are looking to different solution which eventually futile and ineffective. why not wipe out a single continent first. shall we say europe. since most of this activists are from there. then the supply of fishes will go up again.

  • @nantoi Ooor we could wipe out North america because USA eats consumes more food than is necessary~ ooor Africa because who would care? or Austrailia because they are down there~ oor south america because of another stupid reason

  • @DeathsMonody lets just nuc the planet, a mass explosion isn't something you get to see every day ;)

  • @nantoi

this is the stupidest comment I've ever read.

  • No matter the subject theres always someone who belives all this is shit and the same with climate change and yet they complain when prices for seafood goes up, price of fuel goes up and increase for insurance due abnormal natural disasters.

And yet there is a cause and effect by our own limited resurces which impacts erveryone and its up to everyone one of us to change these practices or pay a heavy price and the only seafood you see in a aquarium or a picture in a book.

  • Terrifying times, I do hope people insist on sustainably sourced seafood, it's the least you can do. WWF publishes a list on what's 'green', 'orange' and 'red'-listed, 'green' being the best option. I will not eat anything on the 'orange' or 'red' list and only consume fish at most twice in a month to cut down on my footprint. It all starts with you!

  • We humans deserve to die for our stupidity and greed. It is unfortunate that we are going to take so many creatures with us.

  • Take that fish!

  • Don't know why people actually look down on GreenPeace.

These guys are f'n amazing. The world would be totally f'd up if it wasn't for people like them.

  • @mnpoo2 Greenpeace is one of the best organisations in the world. You're right, it would be a far poorer would without them.

  • between this, climate change, deforestation, etc, etc, etc, I can't help but think the world is f'd, and we are the ones f'n it. Sad.

  • "People say where have all the fish gone? Where are they? We have eaten them!" Classic quote. The ocean has limits, and we've exceeded them.

  • poor fish.. :(( curse you

  • I rented this film almost by accident, but found it both fascinating and disturbing - its a must see.

  • Sustainability V's Greed.... Who do you think will win????????

  • Oops!! Wrong movie. I saw a different film called End of the Line. A creepy film about the Apocalypse.

  • Excellent film. I got it by accident from Netflix so it was pleasant surprise. Should be a cult classic.

  • scary.....i love the ocean <3FUCK ALL THOSE PPL WHO EAT FISH OR DO ANYTHING TO THEM!

  • Indeed we should all eat meat.

  • That's a clever movie title

  • I am disgusted with these comments and diplore the lack of tack and taste and education.

  • mercury does the brain good

  • Eat fish. Enjoy mercury.

  • I have seen NOTHiNG about this movie...

  • you should fucking care. the collapse of the marine environment and its organisms leaves the future of humans hanging in the balance. to put it simply for you: if all the fish are gone, WE ARE SCREWED.

take a marine science course, it might teach you a little something.

  • @mashabi6 unfortunately you are correct, and it's probably to late to save them...it's like the re-make of Day the Earth Stood Still/ where Keanu Reeves sez, "if humans live, the earth dies...if humans die, the earth lives" and that's pretty much where we are headed, extinction of our own species due to willful ignorance, and it won't be pretty going down!

  • @bumpierrez

you don't go to the beach? ever been scuba diving? ...do you have any appreciation for nature? do you know what an ecosystem is?

    why do i bother...

  • always the money, it brakes the rules, we are running out of fish, i have a seafood restaurant here in mexico,i buy the seafood and then sale it in my restaurant, one of my providers says that it is actually less fish every year, says: is because we are finishing it up, to many companys, not getting by the rules, not letting the fish rest and procreate again" this is the only thing i know to do, to have a seafood restaurant, my family had it since 1976 and the future seems bad with this case

  • There is going to be a huge ecological collapse within the next 100 years.

Over fishing is a huge problem. Most countries don't have regulation like the US does. Fishermen are money driven and don't care about any other animals of the ocean. Search YouTube "Sharkwater part 5 of 9" and scroll to 7:10.

  • Live the dream!

  • Wha?

Oh yeah, let me tell you. The dog and cat population is really dwindling.

OK, we as westerners don't like it, but when you really look at it, it's meat. Just good old meat. The West just decided for some reason that this was meat that we should dominate, train, and keep to our side. They chose to go the eating route. Big deal.

Oh, and by the way, the concept of cat and dog meat being used in food doesn't mean every fucking Asian in the world eats them. That's just good old racism.

  • yeh! I hope your fucking population eat you! you are just old meat, right? you don't have any rights, so we can eat your stupid ass too, yeh! we can do that, to me, you're just a piece of stupid meat! i will go to a restorant and order a stupid piece of you, you don't have to worry right, you are dead anyway. Mature idiot taka taka! Is not about Racism u idiot! we're talking about a extermination of every animal!

  • Wow. Seeing how I am a Spanish citizen who has lived half of his life in America, that makes no sense. Ergo, "WE as westerners."

And where does "mature" fit in? Last time I checked, if you're referring to my age, I'm actually YOUNGER than you. If you're referring to my state of mind, then "mature idiot" is an oxymoron. And if it's supposed to be sarcasm, then it's just shitty sarcasm.

Oh... and also... humans DON'T eat every animal. Please, go back to PETA. They'll care.

    Read before replying.

  • Who gives a fuck where you're from? Your stupid comments shows the way you ¨think¨ so, i don't need to know that you are too far way apart younger. And you should go back to your western ass hole, bitch! That's not sarcasm moron.

  • I give up. There is no point in reasoning with you, seeing how you're just plainly guilty of the capital crime of Asshole-ism. You just depress me, and all I did was call you out on a ridiculous comment. I was actually trying to help, 'cause God knows if you sound this uneducated in real life, it must suck to be you. I pray someone DOES eventually school you.

Back to what these comments are SUPPOSED to be about, I will go see this film. It actually seems to be tackling the subject quite well.

  • You and your god can go fuck yourselves idiot! And you can go to see your mother's cunt if you want. Stupid religious cannibal bastard! Fucking depressive western emo wanna be! And you can pray for your ass if you want, and i hope you eat your family when you don't have any fish to eat, fag!

  • hi! whats the name of the song? thx

  • post this on facebook my space get the word out as soon as possible

  • good idea, I've done that, education can save our Earth

  • so true.

  • Where have all the fish gone? We have eaten them. It brings tears to my eyes.

  • where have all the fish gone? where are they? We have eaten them, got me too..

  • Lets hope this movie will get its public light world wide. Here in Norway, its written about,in alot of papers today.

For a huge fish exportist country like Norway,

it will for sure get on the agenda!

  • In the big picture it has been the Sportsman who have tried to call attention to the need to save the wild environment. FYI to the environmentalists and preservationists, Sport Fishermen are not your enemy in this fight.

    We follow the regs.

The Waste & Gluttony of the industrial fishing machines is the big problem. No attention to the reproductive biomass needed for a healthy sustainable resource.

We need international cooperation and economic buy in from those interests.

    IMHO Keith L

  • The Buck STOPS here

  • If they want this film to make an impact they need to put it on TV no one will be bothered to go to the cinema to watch it.....who the hell goes to the cinema to be depressed....and before you all start whinging at me I am being a realist......and by the way I dont eat seafood

  • I can't wait to see this movie. I think visual ways of communicating serious issues like these are the best and most effective way to pass the message. Great work!

  • Same here!!! Documentaries are incredibly powerful and informative. There's another Doc. similar to this, it's about Japan's dolphin drives... the Jap. Govt hides the slaughter of about 25,000 dolphins along Japan's coasts... and this Doc. exposes it to the world.

Here's the trailer for this movie on Youtube:

    watch?v=Sw5qgVp0jng

These 2 movies go hand-in-hand and can make huge differences, which our Earth needs desperately.

  • awesome! I also enjoy seeing that quite a few big organisaitons got together for this campaign. Very special....

  • Yes, very GREEDY, and possibly fat.

I hope that the Film is well received ... good luck !!

  • Thank you for making this Film. We need to be aware of what "We" are doing. Are we merely continuing to sow havoc ?? This is innutterably SAD.

MAN seems to be. basically, stupid and blind.

  • and greedy.
