The "Scared Straight!" program wasn't just one day in 1979. Oh, no. That program has existed for years and years. Right after this film, this became a regular thing. Children coming in and out, reaching a cathartisis. Getting clean.
These lifers did good to get out of there... so they got their lives back.
Why the hell was Willie even released from prison? If I was the personal who was sexually assaulted by him I would have sued the prison for all its worth for even letting him out. Life + 12 years means just that... not serve 25 years and get released
The saddest part of this whole thing is that they took a chance, released him, and not 6 weeks out of the cells, he screws up and sexually assaults someone. I mean come on, you got let go from a LONG jail term and that's how you repay your luck? He's lucky to still be alive. If most people had their way, he'd be dead before returning to the system.
