  • AND STILL WE RISE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's just so hard to wrap my mind around what are people had to deal with just to be free from those sick unatural murderous beasts .....smh and to think most whites of today honor those wicked evil demons called their forefathers !.... Just disgusting the amount of blood on their hands the blood of my people...judgment has already begun my ancestors have waited 2 long for justice....a half assed apology just don't cut it even whitey thinks that should be enough

  • THEY WERE REALLY STRONG BACK IN THE DAYS AND LET ME TELL YOU GUYS

WHITE MAN WAS IN GHANA BECAUSE OF THE ASHANTI AND THE GOLD THE GOLD WAS IN ASHANTI STATE BECAUSE OF THEM THAT IS WHY GHANA WAS CALLED GOLD COAST BACK THEN AND THE SLAVES TOO WERE THERE MAJORITIES OF CARIBEANS ARE FROM GOLD COAST MAROON LANGUAGE

    IS THE SAME US ASHANTI

  • Ashanti are Akan!!!!

  • No worries my SiStar RastaGoddess, the world has been miseducated to further the colonial project even until this day, what it really speaks to is the laziness on the part of some who would rather regurgitate what they have been 'told' and 'sold' than to investigate the information for themselves and go to the People others have written about and ask them. Give Thanks fi di sharing, keep up the Good Works, Tell The Children The Truth!!!.... Bless

  • Give Thanks RastaGoddess, the link between Jamaican Maroons and the Asante Nation of Ghana has been researched and validated by Anthropologists, Archaeologists and Linguists the world over including some from Ghana. While the Asante were some of the ones who sold other groups like the ewe, fante and others into slavery, they were also sold into slavery themselves. This information is plentiful and available for all who would care to put in the time as I have to research it. Give Thanks

  • @EmpressInferno Yes Iyah! Give thanks sistah Empress! AppreciaLOVE di response. One Black Luv

  • Thank you rastagoddess 9 for your presentation

  • I am not convince Nanny was Ashanti as that was a tribe who was the supplier of the slaves rather that the victim. You can correct me if I am wrong though. Peace.

  • @caribbeandiaspora Peace! From what I've studied and read, most accounts say that she was Ashanti, however if someone has better information to share about her origins, please do!

  • @rastagoddess9

Thanks. To be honest, I am not even sure whether she was real or not. On national heritage weeks teachers in school will tell us that no one know what she looks like. What we have is just an artist impression. Also, there are extraordinary story of her catching bullets from gunshots in her hands which is just questionable.

  • @caribbeandiaspora why do you think that is questionable? Sorry that i have to say this but this is another example of, to say it politely, underestimating self or lack of knowledge of self. I am a maroon from Suriname ,I know what I’m talking about.

  • @khufu65

Lack of knowledge & self? I was educated in Jamaican schools & elsewhere & as someone of that heritage I don't see fit to continue the myth. Many of our teachers taught us that there're no evidence that Nanny existed. The photo of her on the Jamaican currency I must let you know is an artist impression of what she WOULD or MAY have looked like. I hv been to Ghana & know Ashantis were suppliers of slave to Jamaica. Nanny was suppose to be a Queen according to myth.

  • @caribbeandiaspora Greetings! While appreciating a need for irrefutable data , history of many Nations and people contain myth that sometimes embody several realities in one person. Most of these myths are intended to create positive self images to some to whom it is directed. Let us not deny ourselves the right to myth making.

  • @rastagoddess9 If a person was sold by Ashanti they were labeled as Ashanti, it is more likely that they were from other tribes.

  • @caribbeandiaspora the link between Jamaican Maroons and the Asante Nation of Ghana has been researched and validated by Anthropologists, Archaeologists and Linguists the world over including some from Ghana. • @EmpressInferno

OK. Knowledge is ever increasing. Do you have any credible references I can research? Good books that is. Thanks

  • @caribbeandiaspor

A History of Queen Nanny: the Mother of Us All, by Karla Gottlieb

Black Rebels, African Caribbean Freedom Fighters in Jamaica’ by Werner Zips

Kenneth Bilby and Filomena Chioma Steady, “Black Women and Survival: A Maroon Case,”

  • @caribbeandiaspora LOL you are naive about caribbean and the transatlantic slave trade history.

  • maroon=traitor

  • i guess alot of ghanian women were emancipaters. besides queen nanny both harriet tubman and sorjouner truth were of ghanian descent.

  • they need to make a movie about her and queen nzingha

  • @lafemmenaturalle I agree! More movies about our Warrior Queens, including Yaa Asantewah and so many others! I don't remember off hand what that first track is but will try to find out. 1 LUV

  • @rastagoddess9

its been a dream for me to direct/write movies.

  • what's the name of the song playing at the beginning

  • Long live Nanny!

  • she looks beautiful - she looks a bit like Erika Badu

  • She was a slave or she was a free??????? If she was free than she must have been there before the invaders came? if so than she and the other maroons weren't slaves!!!!!! Why so many contradictions. why can't they get the stories to line up???

  • @REISM1 i could neve wrap my head around her story.I am willing to bet she was a slave. and what's up with people spelling the name of her brother Quao , Kouao , then somehere else I read Kouawo , the Kwao and also Qvao .

  • @cannoir In my research, the correct Afrikan spelling would be either Kwaku or Kwako as I believe the "Q" or "Qu" is a westernized version.

  • @rastagoddess9 this is for your response to Cannoir. Quao and Kwaku are two different names in Akan. Kwaku for a male born on Wednesday Quao name of male on Thursday.

  • @MegaBlueman1 Thank you!

  • @REISM1 SHE WAS FREE.THEY WERE ALL FREE, UNTIL SOME LAZY PERSON SAID THEY WEREN'T

  • @REISM1 Throughout Afrikan History, be it in Brazil, Jamaica, the Americas, and wherever Afrikans were brought to, many were taken as slaves and ran away to the hills to live as free human beings, including Queen Nanny and others.

  • @rastagoddess9 His story!! LOL!! Some one need to learn you OURSTORY!! YOU NEED TO LOOK UP PANGEA!!!! THEN GET BACK TO ME.. IF YOU CAN'T FIND ANYONE TO TEACH YOU, I WILL BE HAPPY TO TEACH YOU THE FACTS ABOUT OUR NUBIAN STORY!!

  • @REISM1 We are well aware of Pangea, the state of the earth before it broke up into continents, and the ancient Afrikan presence worldwide LONG before slavery, however we are speaking of events within the last 150 yrs, within the context of the Afrikan Holocaust.

  • @rastagoddess9 Your contradicting your statements, if the Nubian people were all ready in Brazil, And brazil was apart of Nubian before the drift, and the Nubians were in America before the drift, and the Egiptian Nubian civilization was in existence before this his version your referring to. The caribbean was connected and included, called the Yucatan. Then the people were here long before, the Europeans were on the planet earth. Over 250, 000 years ago.

  • @REISM1 There is no contradiction. 1) We can agree that Afrikan people are the original (first) people on earth, covering the ENTIRE earth before and after continental break up. What we are specifically referring to in this discussion, are Afrikan People and the Afrikan Holocaust within the last 500 yrs. Queen Nanny was brought from Afrika in the late 1800's. Though there were/are indigenous BLACK people found in the caribbean BEFORE slavery, we cannot deny that many came during slavery as well.

  • @rastagoddess9 This is the point ,what proof do you have that this mass of millions of Nubians were brought here to this side of the continent?? Where is the proof besides his -story!!!! His Version. We always use their his- story books and so called forged documents and movies and Drawings by them!!!!!!! Now If we were here in the millions, and i can prove it based on Facts that are tangible evidence!! Now bring your facts to render this Information or Out formation wrong!!!!

  • @REISM1 Though I am one to question and suspect western HIS story, one thing we can't dispute is Ancestral Memories, Genetic DNA memories, and oral tradition. The Afrikan Holocaust cannot be denied. Like Bob Marley once sang "Everytime I hear the crack of the whip, my blood runs cold"....

  • @rastagoddess9 The Nubian Holocaust is still going on today, that's not my point. Still your very confusing i am asking for facts! What is Genetic DNA memories??? And as for oral tradition's this does not render it facts!! Lets look at the definition of the word tradition.. the handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, etc. A STORY given to us by popular tradition. Theology. A long established or inherited way of thinking. To give up. surrender, betray latin word ( tra ditio )

  • @REISM1 Racial memories are posited memories, feelings and ideas inherited from our ancestors as part of a "collective unconscious".

ORI:: Ancestral Memory & God Consciousness The power that MEMBERS the body (brings the body together) is the same power that REMEMBERS its essence and existence before it took on physical form. We call that power ori, the ancestral memory.

  • @rastagoddess9 Ok Your giving me the methods of rituals and practices, where is the Facts, is what we need to know, about this mass slavery to the North America's and the Caribbean????? If the Nubuns Or Olmecs were in theses areas for thousands of years!

  • @REISM1 Oral Tradition in Afrika allowed culture to be transmitted from generation to generation, sustaining Afrikan Thought & Tradition for hundreds of thousands of years through our revered Griots. This is a fundamental and intrinsic part of Afrikan Thought and Cultural Survival.

  • @rastagoddess9 Not disputing this point, but if we are on this topic then why aren't you using this practice, to verify that how there wasn't any mass slavery to the America and the Caribbean. Using the time line, you are quoting, can you really go back hundreds of thousands of years and give me one fact About our Nubian people??? If you could you wouldn't use the name afrika!!

  • Respond to this video... This point proves, his story or version false.

  • where did you get your facts?

  • @ducadaca79 some of these seem questionable, especially coming to jamaica as a free woman, and also about her owning slaves?? , thanks for the upload though since

  • @ducadaca79 There are quite a few well known facts about Nanny aka "Nana"! J.A Rogers was a Jamaican historian fondly remembered as J A Rogers (Joel Augustus Rogers), who contributed tremendously to African History. Google him & Nanny for some facts!!! The list is endless Nana Queen of The Maroons Is Real!!! Freedom in Jamaica was because of the contibution and revolt that she helped spearhead in the 1700s. U will be amazed at what U find! Good Luck!!

  • @labalaba9 Thank you for posting those resources! Much appreciated! One Love.
