I was reading an aritcle a few days ago of which the title of the article was "Dream On" (I've now forgetten what the article was about). Anyway, when my eyes say that title, I immediately started thinking of this song ... of which I hadn't heard in years. It's been several days since, and I am STILL thinking of this song! I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. So, I just HAD to find it on YouTube to satisfy my craving to for it. My craving's been satisfied! Thanks for posting this video!
@randomguy1882 Oops, I made a typo in my previous post. I meant to write in the 2nd sentence, "When my eyes saw that title", NOT "When my eyes say that title". Sorry for any confusion. But anyways, my previous post is a true story. And I also want to say that the Oak Ridge Boys version of the song is better than the Righteous Brothers version (but their's was good too, just not as good as the O.R.B's version).
I just heard this song for the first song tonight. Wow! I am a Classic Country fan (although not an aficionado), and love this song. What a great song!!! Country music during this era was truly magical.

@GX2Photography I wasn't aware if the Righteous Brothers' version. They have awesome voices too - but I don't see how anyone can dislike the Oak Ridge Boys' version.
My favorite song of all time. Richard Sturban's voice is what formed my love of country music, and this song in particular. I remember buying the album, and after listening to Elvira, I wondered if he did a song as the lead singer. The next thing I knew, I almost fell out of the chair I was sitting in when this came on. Instant love for the song.
thanks for that story. that reminds me of my old high school girl friend. we dated two years and then after graduation i went to work for the rail road and my father had just died. it was just to hard for a 16 year old girl to deal with. so we parted ways. and whats funny. is she called twenty two years later and we made mends. she had no idea that im fixing to go home to be with the lord and she said that she just felt like she needed to call. now we are great friends and she is helping me cope
im 35 when i was 13 befor i found the women i was going to spend the rest of my life with i knew every word to this song and got me alot of women untill i just turnd 16 and ment the women i was going to marry and now we been married 16 years now been to gather 19 wow along time any ways if you know you love some one and thay love you follow your hard yung love can last every one told us it wouldnt last a year and now thay say never woulda thought it would last
The Oak Ridge Boys haven't forgotten where they started. If you haven't seen them in a while, they do still perform their gospel music as well as the songs that got them to where they are. They are a phenominal group and one of my all-time favorites.
Ive seen them in performance before and they are amazing singers! But the only thing i dont like about them and i know you cant disagree but they started out with christian music so people would like them and they used that advantage to get into country/pop and i just think they forgot their direction in which they started but thats my opinion and please contact me if you disagree because i would love to here your opinion. and i dont hate them for that and im not trying to critisize them. :-)
Perhaps the Lord in his infinite wisdom had plans for these boys that you are not privy to. Or, another thought to consider, I know very very few people whose careers stayed the course they started. And how do you know why they started in "Christian music"? Just wondering.
I'm no huge country music fan ... but I think the Oak Ridge Boys are very special... I really enjoy watching them perform -- and THIS is their best song.
I sing this song at karakoe in honor of my Grandparents which were married for 49 years. I grew up with this song and it reminds me of them and how they loved each other.
@71huskers What brand of karaoke issued this? I can't find a karaoke version anywhere (I assumed the Righteous Brothers version would be much easier to find.. but nada)
@71huskers That brings tears to my eyes. 49 years. I heard this song on Hee Haw and my neighbor had it. His stereo had great bass so it sounded even better!! I'd ask "Can I hear it one more time?!
One of the best country tunes of all time. When I first saw it had an anime slideshow, I groaned (not a fan), however, after watching it, I applaude the creator as many of the slide really help give/show the emotion in this song.
This song really reminds me of someone that I care very much for. Thank you very much for this song and the slideshow.
@Billy44472 While I agree that the Oak Ridge Boys music from that era was "full of passion and emotion," they were the exception. Country from this era was largely devoid of both. Many people were predicting the death of country music before the New Traditionalists, i.e. Ricky Skaggs, John Anderson, Randy Travis, George Strait came to prominence in the 80's. Back to the song-I love it. It is my favorite song from the Oaks.
this reminds me of me and my husband being together

Richard was guided by Elvis. Wow! He has some of Elvis' presence to him.
In May 1984, for my 10th birthday my parents took me to their concert. This was the only time I've seen them live. I shook their hands.
