She'd been unjustly villified by the underground press, from Parisians who thought her unworthy of being a Queen( it took forever for her to bear an heir) and mostly from the emerging demogogues like Marat, Robespiere, etc. She was a mere child when she became Queen and isolated from the realities of everyday life among the French people.
