  • Man its way to cool to see people restoring old vintage snowmobiles ...my cousin has several Olympiques from 1966 to 1969 and there one 1968 restored...its a beauty ! ....im looking for a one between '66 and '69 too... for a Project aslo ;)

    Again...Awesome Job ;D

  • wow thats nice iam trying to get a 1978 olympic and do the same

  • where did you get your track from?

  • Great job on the restoration.

I just picked up a 1969 Ski-Doo Olympic and a 1970 just like yours. I plan to restore both. I'm a novice with these machines so I have some quick questions. On both of the sleds their is the decompressor. What is that for and is it essential for starting the sleds? I see both use to have a place for keys to start them up. Is that also for startup and if not how should I start them otherwise?

    Thanks and again awesome job.

  • @donnybaj Decomp is to let a little compression leak out of the cylinder when starting. makes it easier to turn over. Almost as easy to start without using it. Yes it is for start up.

  • How long did it take you to complete this sled? You did a great job.

  • Beauty Job....Nice to see a quality resto. I am just getting into my 69' 12/3 .

  • where did you get the engine

  • The engine was on the sled when it came in to be restored. They made a lot of them with that motor in 1970

  • i'm gonna mod a ski-doo olympique 1969 with following :

1: inviduall front suspension (from a polaris indy)

2: polaris indy 340 engine ( with custom made pipe)

3: polaris indy boggie, with a polaris indy 32mm.

i hoipe it's gonna be done in couple of months, i'll post it on my channel (:

  • I wish my '69 Olympic was that nice... These old sleds are lots of fun. Nice job on the restoration.

  • nice restoration i have a 1976 olympic in not bad con

  • I restored one of those when i was 15 but didnt go that far with it,wow what a nice machine

  • Its for a 335 also
