the point being here...when the sh*t hits the fan, I'll be eating the same way I do now because I was lucky enough to learn from my father and grandfather how to hunt, fish, trap, camp, etc...Being "damaged" or "not well adjusted" is indeed relivant here as survival is 90% psychological(Mr Lundin). But I've overcome that battle already countless times in the bush because I was raised to be self sufficiant. To me, this computer is a luxury(no TV here), what's it to you?
5 year olds are still trying to grasp the physicall world around them. introducing thoughts of death and taking life, not to mention actually dismembering a kill is to much for a five year old. remember at 5 years old, still learning colors and shapes. your telling me that at the age where you cant even remember your shapes and colors your gonna kill and skin a dear. not to mention the physical strength to hang it and pull hide from flesh. anyone with 666 in there name loses credibility
@rupert7marla btw, fyi, my psych101 teacher's ideas taught us that children can only be as "well adjusted" as their parents are, so if you're the type of parent that shadows their children to make sure their feet don't get wet, well.....
Nobody's telling YOU to teach YOUR kids to skin a mule deer, but, teach them how to grow a garden. Teach them what wild edibles are in your immedeate/greater vacinity. Teach them how to make fire, and respect it at the same time. It takes a village, not a book!
have you been around a 5year old that is skinning something to eat? I was that 5yr old 25yrs ago, and NOTHING makes me more proud than the fact that my father and grandfather taught me how to live AND taught me how to survive from the time i could sit up in a boat and/or a tree stand...and I feel grief and regret for every life i've taken. That is why we give thanks to the provider. There are reasons why Cody & Dave eat the hearts of the animals they take. more than nutrtional value (respect)
Agreed survival training should be mandatory!!! 5 YEAR OLD'S SHOULD BE ABLE 2 SKIN A DEER!!! AMERICA WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE IF WE DON'T FIX THIS!!! God told me that he loves America very much, fix the problems don't let them get worse.
@Unrealll6666 that awesome. and when we go out we do teach a little survival.where to find water types of plants that can be use and ate.but like in most of are videos we use goats as pack goats.and now we have large packs for are goats..we use to have only 3 little packs and now we have 2 large and the 3 little packs,,1 pack is going to be for first aid pack only..but away thanks for stopping by..and remember to be safe and happy camping..
@Unrealll6666 Have you ever seen a 5 year old around something dead. your obviously inexperienced. You will emotionally damage a child of 5. they will not be able to feel certain emotions like grief, and will in turn lose the ability to work through saddening and depressing events. this will force the child to suppress emotions rather than deal with them. the optimal age is around 10 for dealing with death and cleaning a kill. befor this the child should learn of the wild, dangers and safety
@rupert7marla What you are saying is comletely unfounded, and I'm the living example...I grew up OTG. We have this saying from my "neck of the woods,"you fish for sport, I fish for support". I grew up this way and i'm not "damaged."
@f1471in3r completely unfounded in what? youlle need to specify after using the word unfounded. You obviously have no children, and have been conditioned to think abnormally. take a psychology course or just read "Abnormal Psychology" or are books of no use to you?
@rupert7marla you a shrink? 'cause you sound like all the ppl in the behavioral studies dept at the college(s) I got my degree(s) from. Listen to you, all high and mighty. I am the living PROOF! All you have are assumptions and inferrances you learned from a third party(obviously)...I have a LIFETIME of experience, and a damn good education to boot....what you got?
@dflyfamily wow thanks you all..we had an awesome time up in prescott..your version of course is alot better then ours..lol..thanks for stopping by and let us know that you have up loaded cody.. hope we can be friends on here..check out our videos also..also we friended yavapai college.looken forward to see you all again..happy hiking and camping..AZ all the way..
