@imagy69: First of all; no need to be so rude. Second; as people already have pointed out - Mistreated is from the album Burn which was released in 1974. Blackmore/Coverdale are credited the song (most likely Ritchie music and David lyrics), and it was sung by David. California jamming was in 1974, not in 1972. Made in Japan was released in 1972, obviously with Ian Gillan and Roger Glover still in the line-up rather than Coverdale/Hughes.
@imagy69 Wow I'm late for this one haha. In fact, the song came along while David was jamming with a guitar playing something in Bm. That lead to the song. However, as you may know imagy69, songs usualy are a sum-up of colaborations from each member of the band. And what I meant, it wasn't about the composition itself but the unbelievably gifted voice David Coverdale has. It's very hard, even if you sing the same notes, to sing it the same way. That's it. Jorn Lande does a great job doing that.
A couple of things I want to say. First of all the good things, this girl has an amazing voice, love it. But.. it's always hard to sing a Coverdale song, and specially this I can't feel it. It's a much too sweet voice for a bitter and painfull song. And I miss the riff, nevertheless, I do like the arrangements. Love the voice, and love the song, it's cool to have this influences.
Really quite good, and I'm an old (well, longstanding!) Purple fan. Even Candice Night hasn't tackled this standard. And the Whitesnake reference works. Great!
check her out on the new leaks... she is stunning - probably the best female vocals I have ever heard. gave me goose bumps! A hearty and humble Opeth fan.
Was I surprised or what to hear that a female singer would appear on the new Opeth album?! She's great! just great! female singers are ususally misplaced in metal, but Opeth are Opeth, and I know it'll be great. Can't wait til Watershed's out in stores.
i know what you mean. i too have serious problems to wait for the new record. i know its gonna blow my mind like blackwater park and grand conjuration, and her voice is awesome and fits greatly for opeths style. i cant fucking wait
Bit inappropriate text for a woman to sing... And she sings like she's been mistreated abused like she liked it. Bit more (appropriate) emotional. And I don't like the guitars...
Nevertheless, very nice version, beautiful voice, and I like the "Lonely Days" addition!
In my opinion she is missing emotion in her singing. I'm not feeling the pain. It just sounds pretty. Do you know what I mean? A bit shania twain like I think...
Well... Jon Lord apparently thought she was good enough to tour with... and I'd say his opinion beats ours any day of the week!

I hate Mendez's new hairstyle... it's short, and he looks like a politician.
Seriously, now he can't do the side-to-side headbang. ='(
Anyways, I can't wait for Watershed. She has a beautiful voice.
