This is fucking stupid. They're like prisoners in those cages, and they're only babies. They're innocent . Stop murdering them, who cares if the cage AKA JAIL is light weight .
@sprinklypancakes it's not jail. they're in those cages to avoid any infections. after 8 weeks of age they're let out into the field. we also put human babies into cribs which look more like jail with those bars. don't write things you're not familiar with and know nothing of it. those cages are designed to give maximum comfort to calf.

You can see the real problem with this pen system in the video. Its not user friendly to clean them with a tractor. Nobody like pitching dung by hand. So people just dont clean them until they move the calf. That leads to bedding that is FULL of fly maggots and eggs. It can get pretty bad. Calves just dont weigh enough to really pack the bedding. My point: CLEAN OUT YOUR CALF PENS IN THE SUMMER!
