You can easily get way more power out of a GTP for way cheaper than a NA car, like you said thats $1400 right there. Plain and simple you only need 500-700 worth of parts to put a GTP in mid to high 13s. Most people on clubgp are at this point. A 240 will cost you 2-3k to get a turbo sr20 installed and shipped and it will put you about the same times in the 1/4 mi depending on which sr20 you choose. The gtp will dominate on the dragstrip and the 240 would destroy at drifting. But either way neither are the best handling cars and would get smoked by miatas around the track:p
its called traction.. most people running 240's these days throw dampers on their cars with rediculous stiff spring rates for drifting(which kills your traction). I have had a few turbo 240's. They are extremely torquey. In my experience, unless you are running 255's in the rear with a good sticky compound, your ass wont grab.....GTP's are not cars to be reckoned with. The 3800 series motor wasnt named one of the 10 best engines of the 20th century for nothing...
