Go to window on the menu up there and click "Tools"

(Tools is like almost the last one)

Why in the world photoshop need 3d ... they added 3d in illustrator as well.... dont we have maya and 3d stuiod max to 3d work.... they are just making illustrator and photoshop more hard to work with .. and making it impossible to load ....

may be in future they will launch a single product which can c8 vector handel pixel and 3d work all in one... huh... !!

@imranbug81 I'm sorry you feel that way. There are plenty of articles out there discussing why 3D in PS is a good thing, and who it's good for. I'm not sure PS is harder to work with, since it's new functionality - the UI changed, but the tools still work pretty much the same way. And on both of my Macs, PS loads just fine.

Photoshop CS5 extended is amazing considering that you can work in 3D :D

If your 3D toolbar does not appear it is basically for one of three reasons.

1. Video Card Sucks (Or you don't have the latest drivers)

2. Enable GPU settings in Edit>Preferences>Performance

2. You downloaded the trial version and it is now expired which means you don't have the full Cs5 extended features or you didn't enter a serial number when requested (Unregistered Photoshop).

hi ..i have a problem...my analysis and 3d panels from menu toolbar have disappeared after i dragged to the left the essential-design-painting toolbar...my toolbar menu is on the same row with the  essential-design-painting toolbar...someone know how to undo this? or from where cani restore the visibility in the menu toolbar of the 3D and Analysis Tabs? Useless bloatware-features for a professional „pixel tool. Adobe focus more on your core features! Otherwise, you will lose more professionals. They all have access to 3D software with much better quality.

@Patschenkino Hardly useless, and hardly bloatware. It's a tool, and it's available to you. If your particular vision doesn't include ways to use this tool, no problem. Fortunately, you are not obligated to buy the Extended version, nor are you obligated to learn anything new.

@lightningsymphony Learn something new is not a problem, on the contrary. I am a Photoshop User since v1.5 and I know all versions very well. But this new features are useless to me. (There are Max, Maya, Modo, Softimage, Blender and so on.) It would be better if Adobe focus more on bug fixing and smart Details, like Apple do it in Snow Leopard.

@MiniMillo You need to turn on OpenGL support....Edit-Preferences-3D and select OpenGL under "Interactive Rendering"

@giaci89thebest Start with a blank layer, paint or use circular marquee to create the dots. To select, Ctrl/Cmd + Click on the layer thumbnail. This loads the opaque pixels on the layer as a selection.
