I love this song. It has so much meaning to me. My friend had an abortion a while and it hurt me as much as it hurt her because we've been so close since we were little. She didn't tell me about the abortion until a little while later and just knowing that I could have stopped it somehow but wasn't there just makes it even harder. When we heard this song we both cried cause it has so much meaning to us. Thank you Skillet for writing this song. -3
@rokgurl17 It would be appreciated if you wouldn't make any more things up just for flamebait. Especially when it puts down some great people like the Coopers. They use their concerts to spread the word of God and to help people out of rough times. A comment like that could completely ruin their message to the people that they have helped, and hurt those people even more. Please don't talk things that you don't know about again. It'll be appreciated.
@rokrgurl17 That's not possible. First off, John is from Memphis, TN and Korey is from Kenosha, WI and I don't think that's the same school district. Also, John came from a super religious family, and the two are very good christians. Just by the way they speak about life and act on lots of videos I've seen, there's no way that either would have an abortion. Also, if you're gonna say something like this, you might want to check facts like THEY DIDN'T MEET UNTIL JOHN WAS 20 AND KOREY WAS 23!!!!!!
The story behind this makes much more sense but makes me cry even harder. I feel so much guilt because I almost had an abortion with my 11yr old son. He is now the most amazing beautiful boy I could ever look at and he is my only son. I thank God that my husband and I agreed not to terminate and let him be born. This song makes me cry every time. I felt the need to share my little story after knowing the truth behind the song.
When John first denied telling people what Lucy was about was cool, 'cause then you come up with your own meaning.. or somehow related it to your life. Yes I think the meaning is strong and emotional but if it was a meaning you came up with then the song means that much more to you.
@GarrettThePanhead No, I'm glad that you posted it and gave me credit! 1,000+ hits, that's awesome!!! I have a question for you, though. Just a thought that was on my mind about this song..I'll hit you up on Facebook!
I took this video! Ha ha. Hey Garrett, how did you post this from my Facebook? lol. Oh my goodness, I couldn't hold the tears back. I feel so honored that I got to experience this. It was a moment. This song means so much more to me after this!!
@panheadjenny I downloaded it on RealPlayer. :D hopefully You're not at me for posting Your video on YouTube...I did make sure You got the credit for the video! :) I don't like taking the credit from other peoples work. Lol
It feels bittersweet for me if that is the case, because although I love "Lucy", The Last Night seems like it can relate to more people and is more of a general song. I also see that "The Last Night" is a song (in the secular market) in which they share their faith with the message that God loves us. If they can perfect the speech to include their faith, it could be a killer!!!
I get this feeling that when the release a new album and stop to play songs from Comatose, this might replace The Last Night. It does everything, The Last Night did. It has the Epically sad speech with the soft music in the background, it has split up vocals with John and Korey, and it looks like it resonates in the crowd, so that everyone who feels alone, is filled with hope.
I want to go to this tour sooo bad but the closest date, which happens to be the last date on this tour, which happens to be in my state, is four hours away on a Sunday night, about a week before my Winter Break!!
Finally!!!!! It all makes sense!!!!! They finally explain the song! I want to be there!!! I want to go to this tour just to hear that live!!!!!!! I get the song now!! So beautiful! So sad! I love it!
Whoa. That's all I have to say. Whoa. I honestly did not see that coming. That whole story...how much detail went into making this one song...John Cooper is a lyrical and musical mastermind. Enough said.
