A "hotdog" or "hotdog-er" is a guy. It's in almost all beach movies from the 60's. Usually a show off sufer that the guys hate but, the girls go crazy over. Which is fitting since Cathy is boy crazy.
If only they had the great medicines for mental illness we have today, in the mid-60's.. poor little patty would have been able to control herself around a hot dog..
