Mac OS X is not supported with software virtualization. To run Mac OS X you need a host on which VMware Workstation supports hardware virtualization. :S

Most software doesn't work on this. Most programs I install give a video error , or an OpenGL error , and just crash also iWorks, and iLife don't work correctly . Is there a FIX for this yet ? Thanks .

@xbsl123x It doesn't lag on my computer. Maybe your computer is to old, or you need more RAM. It doesn't correctly support graphics cards, because I see iLife, and iWorks will not run correctly .

@Tinyshot2k8 I have a HP Pavilion HPE Intel Quad Core i5 8GB 1TB HD and two external 1TB HD ... Yes both the audio and video work for most of the software in Lion vmWare. I give 4GB of ram to the vm , and for the most part it runs smoothly, and you can download load one already set up for you off pirate bay if you need one .

@maw88ify Thanks! I have a Sony VAIO F11M1E/H and to be honest, running ahackintosh is quite hard for me and a lot of VAIO users. I used to have snow leopard installed in vmware workstation 7, but the audio was clicky/laggy and it delayed by a splitsecond which is very inconvinient for me (since I use logic studio). Does your audio have a slight delay? and do you think logic can run smoothly on vmware?

Hi,

I renamed the user mahmood1 to my name and then changed password.

BUT, when I open terminal it is still under mahmood1s-mac:~Mahmood1$

AND, when I try to use sudo commands it asks for password and I cannot even type into password: , there is no input what so ever. The num lock light on my keyboard goes out, its like when I get to password it shuts off the keyboard. Ive tried no password and my password and nothing worked.

but to get it (Mac OS X Lion ) on VMware workstation working we must use the 8.0.0 build-471780 vmawre version and not the older version like VMW v7 or lastest version like VMW v8 0 1Build 528992

keep in mind...dont upgrade vmware, the patches do not work on it. I upgraded before I ran Lion, once I upgraded I keep getting access violations on lion. so I uninstalled and reinstalled the version packaged with this. this is a good vm

Brother ! I have installed your Lion OS in vmware on my Sony Vaio Core i5 and it is working great.

The biggest problem is that "XCODE" doesn't run and give the following error:

@Congoalie1 I heard that when you see that error it usually means your doomed because your computer doesn't have enough power to run it. Maybe lack of ram since you may be running 2 OS at once

Actually I think you just need a better processor to maybe fix that error

I've got this up and running from your guide, thank you. Couple of issues though, 1 The graphics performance is slow and sluggish when trying to run some things like launch pad etc. 2 I can't increase the amount of processors/cores in VMWare without it stating: “The virtual machine might not run properly because it is configured to use more virtual processor sockets than the guest supports”

I just downloaded all this and patched vmware but still not able to run, i got int he screen the apple thinking and thats it , never continues from there (0:43) with the request for password.. maybe is because i use AMD Phenom x4 965
