But the US had a more robust economy to facilitate the spending but the USSR didn't have a very strong economy so it couldn't foot the bill like the US could. It was a victory in that the USSR busted their bank while America stayed afloat and kept competing while the USSR's global reach shrank, making it lose its super power status. The US took on a more powerful role making us surpass the former USSR greatly.

America although financial broke is far from disintegration.There are no major secession movements in the US and won't be as long the US can provide decent living conditions for their citizens.

As an actual Alaskan i can tell you Alaska will NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS join Russia. We would join Canada before we join Russia. At least Canadians speak English and Alaskans and Canadians have way more in common and can relate better than Alaskans and Russians. If the USA did break up Alaska would probably just become an idependent country and use its vast natural resources for trade and jobs. Russia, and Canada would probably be allies, and China and Japan would be big trade partners.

I think Congress should look into RTAmerica's broadcasting rights in the US. I should write to my congressman so he can look into this.

They had a heavy water research facility in Telemark, Norway but saboteurs destroyed the heavy water canisters so they couldn't produce anymore, due to this it would've taken another 10 or so years for them to acquire enough research and enriched uranium to create a single one.
V2's only carried a small HE warhead and not a fission one like you stated.
