The thing I think Bo did better than anyone on Season 4 was song choice. He had a couple that could have been rethought but he was quite consistent in picking the right song for his style while still proving he was versatile.

suprising to re listen to this after so many yrs, but just after the 1st 5 sec, i was thinking the same thing. and really throughout he never really settles into the sweet spot of the pitch center. most won't be sensitive to this, but i am a trained pro musician and did make me surprisingly uncomfortable as well! still thought he should've won that yr.

Yeah, this was probably his best performance, because the song lyrics fit his personality best. It was like he was just talking to the audience more than singing canned lyrics. They fit so well. That is a home run in SONG CHOICE.

Very tall, slender, golden-haired, blue eyes, beautiful expressive face....PLUS he is super talented!!! I am a big Bo fan and have his records and voted for him like mad. But I must say that this, although strong, is pitchy. I think it is a hard song to sing. One thing I don't get is how people complain about people on this show not sounding like the original and it not being as the original. NO CRAP! To think it will be as good as the original is setting yourself up for dissappoinment. That being said, the whole point is for contestants to do a balance of the orginal sound combined with their own musical stylings. Bo sang great, even if it wasn't as good as the original.

okay nighttrek. Rap is a derivative from Africa. The rhythms and beat and repetitive lyrics all derive from there. It's my heritage and im proud of that. But no rap is very derogatory in modern time. But not all rap is. For instance take Run away love by mary .j Blige ft.Ludacris. That is a very serious song with a message. Also
S-E-X by Life jennings. Also an influencial song. Not talking about the gangsta fantasy or the thug life. But real, inspiring situations.

Part 1a (briraque)What I'm smashing is rap being referred to as Music. And lets face it, theres rarely any positive message to it. Its all about the gangsta fantasy...me,myself and I. Nice message. There are no "vocals"..the drums are usually a drum machine unless thats all the drummer can handle.

to niqhttrek: everyone is entitled to their opinion but do you have to smash the rap genre? i mean why pay a 75 maybe 100 dollar ticket on somebody you dont even know at a concert. We're in a recession i wouldnt spend money on a concert that will deafen me and will only last approx. 2 hours so...

Part 2- When rap is referred to as a talent,its something to chuckle in the background about. Before the recession man..rap has not been concert appeal material. I could go on and on about how rap is a big zero, but why. The real scurge is that so many listen to it.

Part 1- I think what I like most about Bo..being from the early seventies (High School period) is how he displays Rock Rules then and still now. We went to Rock Concerst..filled out stadiums. Now these Rap fans, what up with that?

Part 2-Rappers can't even fill out Stadiums..you hear it coming out of all the youths cars, but what?..you won't go to their concerts? (when they have concerts,whenever that is) Rap is a vibe man, its not music, and the sad attendance shows that. Its freakin boring. Thats Bo for being the haunting rock spectre on American Idol, displaying to all what really kicks ass!!!!

One thing I don't get is how people complain about people on this show not sounding like the original and it not being as the original. NO CRAP! To think it will be as good as the original is setting yourself up for dissappoinment. That being said, the whole point is for contestants to do a balance of the orginal sound combined with their own musical stylings. Bo sang great, even if it wasn't as good as the original.
Way to go Bo, Alabama will always be proud of you.

He's not lipsynching, it's the synchronization in the video. Even the judges comments aren't synching right. Bo still had the best stage presence of any AI contestant. Bo is awesome!
