  • media outlets have programmed us all our lives, to actually like shit. Try going a few years without any TV channels - then try watching TV again... You will see everything as pure crap. Thats my experience, and I see mainstream music, movies, games, etc. as crap too. Sometimes I accept the crappiness and enjoy something dumb for a moment, but mostly it annoys me that I was consuming all this shit since I was a kid, because it was everywhere.

  • Let The Right One In is my favorite movie of all time. I'm glad you liked it.

  • cuz americans want immediate gratification. they don't want to think & ponder over a movie. they want fast sex, fast love & fast, breezy characters who seem exciting. they prefer the bright shining objects of cheap material over the subtle luster of some thing of true value. we're a fast food society - & every thing else follows. & i think to a degree, americans are less educated. we just are. & the better of the 2 movies prob'ly wasn't promoted as aggressively as the cheaper american version.

  • since when did anyone have faith in this piece of shit we call humanity?

  • @lecolis Agreed.

  • J.K Rowling wrote a better lovestory in 1 chapter that Stephanie Meyer did in an entire saga .

  • @BrianGriffin92 So true!

  • Because the masses are too dumbed down to know better.

  • I have to say thank you for letting me know about Let the Right One In. I has never heard of it before and it has become one of my favorite movies thanks!

  • let the right one in is my 2nd favourite non-english language film

    really good

  • what i took from let the right one in was that th wee girl was just exploiting that boy to do things for her and replace the old man from before who probably had a similar relationship with her long before the movie takes place

  • @thejokerclarke Yeah if you read the book that's what it sort of insinuates. Plus there is all this well creepy stuff about pedophilia and eli really being a boy which is all verry disturbing. the book is still a good book though.

  • Because Humans are closely related to Chimpanzees.

  • i saw both of them too! Let the right one in was... how could you even compare the two? Let the right one in was vastly superior.

  • Desire and peer pressure always wins over free thought and intra personal development in this society its like comparing luxury cuisine over junk food. Junk food always wins these days as it is quick and easy to get and leads to sudden satisfaction, however fickle. Luxury cuisine takes longer to get and is out of the reach of those that are not willing to wait for it. As a med student and wannabe novelist it kinda annoys me that I could make more money aiming at girls irrational desires.

  • The explanation is in the moral code of altruism, which is extolled by Christianity/Naziism/Communism. Sacrifice the ideal man (Jesus), to the vicious crowd. Sacrifice rational, productive people, to the irrational and unproductive (welfare state). Sacrifice interesting to mediocre, creative to bland, the individual to the collective, life to death, good to evil, existence to non-existence. i.e. Hate the shit that's great, love the shit that's poor, stupid, and horrible.

  • Because the less exceptional is the easiest to understand.

  • Commercial movies, music and books are consumer products, not art. For any consumer product to have any success and sell millions it must appeal to the lowest common subset of emotions to its target audience.

  • for all of you that are tellin TJ that he is somehow putting himself above the masses producing this "horse shit" he uses the word we not you.

  • I really agree with you on all of this, even though I haven't seen either film. And you know what's really funny? I went to high school with a girl named Stephanie Meyers. XDD

  • In "The American President" there is a particularly philosophical argument about why people except false leadership. It basicly says that when you are dieing of thirst in the desert and find a mirage you crawl forth and when find int that there is no water you drink the sand. But people dont drink the sand because there thursty people drink the sand because they don't know the difference. Oh and whats the problem with getting teen girls to read. At least there not watching well, anything on TV

  • TJ, You posted once that the film Inglorious basterds was the best film that came out that year when several other artistic based films came out that year, and YOU YOURSELF shunned them compared to a movie that is essentially a dog terd, and completely defies actual history.

I can understand you criticizing the masses, but you're just as much of a cause to the problem when you talk about inaccurate tactless mind-numbing movies as being "good" and other shitty movies as being a cause for alarm.

  • TJ, I respect you, I respect your message, but i have to say, what the fuck. Stop acting like your from some other distant alien world, you're a part of the society that is producing this horse-shit and you know it.

  • I hate this species >_>.

  • Simple answer read The Culture Industry: Enlightenment as Mass Deception by Theodor W. Adorno. I usually don't like these reference post but I find that his argument is so integral and complex that I cannot possible portray it in a youtube post, and certain I am in no position to even try. Simply typing the title into google will bring you a link. It is a long and difficult read so anyone curious should be prepared.

  • ok if you ever watched that 1954 classic "The Last Time I Saw Paris" loosely based on Scott Fitzgerald's short story "Babylon Revisited" in which Van Johnson played a frustrated writer grappling to attain fanancial independence with his stories that keep being rejected, his father in law (Walter Pidgeon) lays it on the line to him, "It's mediocrity that sells, boy! That's what the public wants, not quality". Anything profound or of deep & lasting significance cut's no ice w/ the average mind.

  • @SS

Now I wouldn't watch any Vampire fatasy flick of today. They're corny and vapid and jejune. I don't care how expensive and good looking and well made they're suppose to be. Give me back Bela Lagosi and Boris Karloff & keep the rest. However I agree that it seems that most Dracula movies and books put out there now are for a young cuacasian female audience who really couldn't fight their way out of a wet paper bag in any struggle to get caught up in some macabre kick to drool in their drawls.

  • A respond to your question TheAmazingAtheist. I think it is like eating fast food. When we don't think about what we are eating fast food tastes like good. That is what the primitive part of the brain tells us. Yet it is not healthy. Many movies doesn't require thinking, but with a lot of music it gives us the right feel in the right sequence... without the understanding of why. This is my theory anyway :)

  • I'm a teenage girl who actually enjoys films such as "Citizen Cain", "One who flew over the cuchoo's nest", "The Shawshank Redemtinon" those kind of movies and I think Twilight was not even worthy to be made into an actual movie let alone a book :P My bet friend begged me to see it with her, she pissed herself over it and I was honest and told her I hated it - she actually DEfriended me for that!! It kinda makes me wish I was a stupid teenage bitch so I wouldn't feel so left out...

  • @InspireMe

Now why would you wish for that? Don't be like the rest. It dosen't pay. Really. If your sometime friend dumped you for not having the same fool feelings for some two-bit lousy movie, so much the better for you. The more fair-weather friends reveal themselves as such, the better off you are. Now if you were to invite her to watch Rod Serlings ORIGINAL "Twilight Zone" episodes with him narrating, she'll probably think something idiotic - like Rod is "gay" or a "fucktard" if not worse.

  • @SwarthySkinnedOne Yeah, can't argure with that. At least where I live, you would see a teenager like me less times than you would see frickin' Bigfoot.

  • Why? Because most people are Raytarded Raymundos... Dur!

  • pretty cool that something from swden is recognised

  • @spaik007 What about Notch? lol

  • @Jontish316 Fuck yhe Sverige för the Win ;)

  • Let The Right One In is on of my all time favourite movies. It hits really close to home with me and I never get tired of it. It's a timeless masterpiece.

If I had to pick one movie that speaks to my mind it would be 2001 or There Will Be Blood. If I had to choose a movie that speaks to my inner child it would be Raiders Of The Lost Ark. But if I had to choose a movie that speaks to my heart it would definitely be Let The Right One In.

    Twilight: Not so much.

  • Hello AmazingAtheist.

In regards to your question (which you have probably answered long ago), there really is no objective standard of taste.

I think, in the end, it is the ethical values and emotional cues carried by "Let the right one in" that touched you, and the values of Twilight repulsed you.

Women (and men, strangely enough) who identify with twilight, identify with the values extolled therein.

They are also the... majority values. I mean just look at the majority values.. scary

  • @Btmangan Its a three year old video, he deosnt read the comments now.

  • That is a very good and important question and I wish I could give a clear answer to it.

What I believe is the main reason for this, is the persuasibility of the human mind to an extend where advertising starts to interfere with our value system and thus our ability to judge quality.

I think this is also true for musical taste and so forth. Especially from my generation and younger the majority of people has absolutely no interest in real music but just stupid electronic stuff.

  • @XCM666 Some people just can't grasp electronic music.

  • @Thehappificator Don't get me wrong here, I was running out of characters in the last post. :D

I'm not completely against electronic music, but where I live many young people just listen to the simplest, most repetitive and immature songs, while simply denying almost every other type of music.

  • I wonder are you talking about the original swedish version or the new remake? I didn't like the remake very much but the original is one of my favourite films of all time. it's an amazing movie.

I haven't seen twilight because all I have heard from intelligent people or people who have some form of taste is the shit you said, it's a piece of crap, so I won't be watching it.

  • @hexalslug silly me I didn't see the date of the video, clearly it's the original that was out in 2008 then. I wish they never remade it.

  • Nostradamus

  • Let the Right One in will be around for years, It is a movie fans will watch over and over again while Twilight after one generation will probably embarrass parents who raved over it as teens. Also the concepts and language in the novel Let the Right One In couild be difficult for many American readers. After all Scholastic had to dumb down Harry Potter for them

  • By choosing to accept mediocrity, we are artists.

  • There is only a few twilight movies to be made

    1. twilight

    2. new moon

    3. eclipse

    4. breaking dawn

and I forgot the last one they all suck

  • nazi zombies

  • For once, I have to agree with Atheist (yes, even a blind sow finds an acorn once in a while), the two movies couldn't be any more polar opposite.

  • I was amazed that some one could make a good vampire movie, but I really liked Let the Right One In. I would guess the subtitles have something to do with its numbers relative to Twilight even though the story draws you in to the point where you don't notice them.

  • I completely love this video because I agree 100% with your opinion on both movies. Let The Right One In<3

  • just got my cable cut off and i can honestly say this guy is more entertaining than ANYTHING currently on television

  • Twilight isn't about vampires it's a gaint fairy and his family of fairies that happens to eat animals. very stupid

  • Because the Twilight books appealed much more to empty headed teenagers, who would spend more money as a whole to watch movies than other age groups. And they're just fucking stupid. Same thing has happened with music, clothes, etc. Its all gone to shit.

  • I agree. What's funny is that LTROI and LMI were more mature flicks than twilight while the actors and characters were years younger.

    Good video.

  • LTROI was better than the american remake. The book was even better as there was a whole third perspective of one of Oskar's friends whose stepdad is a policeman on Hakan's case.

  • Nailed it on the head.

  • Are you sure dude? The Dark Knight was actually pretty good.

  • Cos people fall for anything thats hyped

  • this has probably been said before, but...

perhaps if the movie theater had a published 'Dislike' button.

  • Let the Right one in is a Masterpiece... Hollywood had to crap on it and try to equal it. Sad.

  • There is a lyric in a song by the band Gov't Mule that states the modern society has no room for art, and that they "can't tell the difference between Vin Diesel and Van Gogh

  • Swedish vampire film = no wet panties or fantasies.

American bullshit vampire... film? = lots of wet panties.

    Understand now?

  • Comment removed

  • well i have asked the same qestion, but i guess it got something to do with hype and the filmakers ability to understand teenage emotions. Some people dont see nothing wrong with plastic even if it is authentic, they cant look past that barrier.

  • I didnt even know about LTROI until Iwas doing my nightly "watch a random movie on Netflix" routine. I found it to be a breathtaking piece of art from start to finish. I was hooked in by it and I still can't quit thinking about it. Twilight was successful because it was made for american audiences and had huge advertising and promotional hype behind it. I just feel bad for anyone who passes up LTROI because they are missing out on one of the best films of all time.

  • @delchavez LTROI friggin haunted me after I watched it. So i wasnt the only one eh? Cool. I was starting to freak out a bit

  • Let the right one in was wonderful.

  • @HentaiGuy42 it may have appeared that Eli was only trying to groom Oskar but in reality she truly did love him. The book is more in-depth about the subject because we get to see things through Eli's eyes. Also, in the next book "Let the Old Dreams Die" Eli turns Oskar into a vampire which would mean that he was more than just a mere servant.

    P.S Twilight sucks

  • @MultiBlaze73 Oh gawd.

  • Because American's as a whole, are fucking stupid? Thought you knew that Tj

  • I was thinking of exactly those two films when I clicked on this video, and I totally agree. LTROI is nothing short of a masterpiece, and Twilight is a load of commercial, money grabbing bullshit.

  • @MuserFilms thanks to peter jackson i hope he makes another movie like that but in interviews he said he wouldn't i hope he changes his mind i bet if he made a remake of the movie Excalibur it would go to the top.

  • im a girl and i hate twilight i love let the right on in and im a mager horra fest girl

i like art and have good grades im not stupid! DONT BE STERIOLTIPICAL PLEASE!

  • @DEMIEHARTSACE15 he's just looking at most of america today, thats all, because most girls, people, just everyone in general is a fuckking moron. nobody seems to understand what true art is, they just look at what is so called "popular". ill tell you right now that its a huge piping hot plate of bullshit. thanks to all this, i finally see why america is one of the most hated countries in this world. cuz were fuckin idiots.

  • You wanna know why? because teenage girls dont look at art and says "this is beutifull" they cant enjoy art because their to fucking stupid and consumed by mtv to do it, they cant think, they want a movie that is delivered right to them, nothing complicated in twilight, nothing that you will need all of your brains activity to figure out, only crap delivered on a silver plate will make them happy and use all their money on this piece of shit movie twilight...

  • Well A teenage girls. B twilights fun to make fun of and C the majority of us are retards

  • The Amazing Atheist... for President?

  • I actually watched let the right one in by just channel hoping; it was awesome. Especially when you don't know what to expect from a movie. The ending was pretty satisfying too.

  • they are pretty much the same only twilight...... sucks balls!! its a piece of CRAP!!!! LET THE RIGHT ONE IN...... WOW.... amazing!

  • Haha.... I like both...

  • @itsmichellecullen they both suck!

  • For the record, "Let the Right One In" wasn't a story about romance or two outcasts healing each other's wounds. It was about an ancient, wicked, and infinitely cunning monster that grooms a child into becoming its servant when it becomes clear that its old one has almost outlived his usefulness. Still an awesome story, but it's extremely dark.

  • It does make sense dude. The one is for the few and the other for the many. People are at different stages in their lives and need different things. Sure majority things can be dangerous and bullshit but so can elite things too. Majority things dont threaten the mass's concept of normal responses while elite things can be unsettling and disquieting which only a few people are interested in or can stomach. Intellectuals can be the most sickest fucked up creeps on the planet.

  • The screaming masses of teenage girls will return to justin bieber

  • The answer is that people, not just Americans now, prefer the mindless bullshit because it doesn't require extensive brain function...people hate thinking, hence the number system at drive-thru places and a host of other examples.

  • it doesnt make sense??

    what?

    ur just angry?

    also!

    who cares?

  • I love let the right one in, i live in sweden and the book is extremly well known here so ive read it and i LOVED it soooo much!

I can live with twilight, but i hate the sparkly stuff -.- and the girl >.< she seems to have NO emotions

  • Another small movie that was great, and made me ball at the end, was none other than Defendor seriously watch it, it is by far Woody Harilson's (I think the Guy from Zombie Land the stereotypical yet hilarious badass) best performance, I don't know why but the ending touched me I don't know what it is maybe I view myself as a more idiotic person in comparison to other people and even though my heart is in the right place society is not there, just watch it and see what I mean.

  • I will point out that Twilight has the monetary backing to be well publicized, whereas this other film I'd never heard of before. That right there is a major reason why. I'm not a Twilight fan at all, in fact it rather makes me want to puke, but I think Twilight reflects very little on our culture. It has massive amounts of money at its disposal to make itself comercially available and teenage girls like hot guys and love stories (and they always have and will).

  • Twilight is insipid. End of story. New Moon was especially just emo masturbation, how I loathed it. I don't really like vampire stories anyway, though I hear Dracula and Nosferatu(sp?) are great.

  • Sparkling vampires? I would like to see Robert Pal name, but let's call her Bella(attison burst into flames... That would be one of the best movies of all time. (BTW, he was hugging Bella when it happened, so she died too..)

  • dude, you see movies like this : the more commercial a movie is... the more you expect from it.. if a movie is a low budget film , you dont expect shit.. and by the way twilight isnt designed for teenage girls. it has plenty of fighting scenes where the vampires rip their arms and heads off and crush their body's. but the rest of the movie sucks.. i can agree with that . okay one more thing. your ego is actually so big that you think that everything you relate to everyone else relates to.

  • @Metallicahouse You obviously haven't watched many of his videos. Also, Twilight is garbage :/ The books themselves were poorly written, uninteresting, and stupid. The characters all suck. Vegetarian vampires? Really? Even the fight scenes are shit.

  • Because humans are shallow..........

  • The responses only have 1 view! Hah!

  • right on man

  • Is it because of human stupidity ?

  • So...is "Let Me In" an American version of that Sweedish movie?

  • @rabbitlove4ever yes... sad :(

  • @rabbitlove4ever Yes and of course, the original is better.

  • How the heck did you know "Twilight" was going to spawn all these sequels?

  • People are stupid. You didnt know that?

  • money (publicity) is the big diffrence I think.

  • were fukn monkey alien slaves watch ancient aliens on the history channel TJ, type it in on you tube, thats why were all so fukn stupid, we only have 6 senses we suck!

  • @malcolm9001 How the hell was that a sentence? Also, did you pay attention in school? 5, 5 senses, smell, hear, touch, taste and sight. 1 2 3 4 5.

  • @KromaxDeditch the other sense is brain, something you dont understand of have, thought.

  • @dcducky19 ...Brain? brain isn't a sense, You don't sense thought, your thought is in the world of ideas, while the others are in the world of senses. of course who am I to argue a man whose merits come from a show that proposes that the pyramids were not of this earth?

  • yo

  • watch?v=DkMO42wb9NE

    Just beautiful.

  • I'll explain TJ. People are ruled by advertisements, fitting in, doing what everyone else is doing. Twilight got all the media attention and already had fans from the books, people then jumped on the bandwagon.

  • you forgot abstinence propaganda, but i guess that's really the third one :/

  • The Twilight fangirls tick me off sooo much. Because most teenage American girls are now portrayed as lustful idiotic retards. Teenage girls like ME are now expected to hear the word 'Twilight', 'Edward', or 'Jacob' and immediatly start screaming like a nutcase and jizz their pants. Twilight has ruined respectable teenage girls' image most likely for the next few years until another peice of trash makes it onto the screen.

  • Vampires are a boring concept and it's been done to death, but Let The Right One In was indeed awesome, very beautifully shot.

  • Can I just say that the best part of the film for me was you talking about your reaction to "Let the right one in"? Since you often play the part of the cynic in a lot of your videos it was really nice and refreshing to hear you talk about something that touched you emotionally. Of course, the main point of the video was also good

  • There are so many Vampire books, movies, now there are actually shows about vampires. There are bands now that are named with vampire and songs about vampire love. IT'S SO FUCKING STUPID THAT I COULD JUST PUKE ALL OVER MY FUCKING COMPUTER! I AM TEMPTED TO RIP MY PUBIC HAIRS OUT ONE BY ONE!!!

  • that's not something wrong with us, it's good news. the dazzling breadth of our creativity is what makes us amazing and rational problem-solvers. whatever the boundaries of our inventiveness, we're nowhere close to exhausting its limits yet!

  • I did watch both movies, one of them made me rewind for the impact it had on me so to experience again certain feelings and the other for some effects and shit I just wanted to see again.

  • is this the swedish verison of "let me in" ?

  • @dinobots789 yes, it's the original version. And it's based on a book by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

  • @dinobots789 The opposite really. Let Me In is the American remake of Let The Right One In, the movie AmazingAtheist is talking about.

Oddly enough, both are good films. But the Swedish one is better. Go see that if you haven't already, you won't regret it. :-)

  • Twilight is a very poor excuse for literature and romance

    why?

    short and very general

girl (bella) falls in love with a daywalking, sparkling vampire and a shapeshifter (not werewolf)

they get mixed up together in a huge, over dramatic triangle and pointless shit happends (again ill say in short cause the topic will be to long to explain)

Twilight gets girls sucked into these beautiful people and misinform what love is (because its actually infatuation), therefore, being obsessed.

  • @Emblemz Not only that, but said vampire is extremely abusive, controlling, manipulative, and generally creepy. He stalks her, spies on her, tails her in his car as she drives to her friend's house, tells her who she can and cannot be friends with, and in the book, physically drags her to his car, and even smashes her truck so she cant go anywhere. Bella is a damn nitwit and poor excuse for a protagonist; she is basically just a Mary Sue self-insert.

  • moved by fucking JAY-Z???hahahah tj youre the bomb!!!:DD:))

  • im a teenage girl and if I was given the choice to watch twilight or set myself on fire...

i would set myself on fire

  • I completely agree with this. It sickens me to know that true passion is out there, true intent is still among us. However the media, and society itself refuses to accept the more intellectual portion. Why? FUCKIN MONEY, of course. If this world was operated on joy, the will to explore and discover. Man, we'd have no need for gasoline. We'd already have an infinite source of fuel. We'd HAVE a cure for cancer, or at least a much better treatment. Disgusting, I love myself, but I fuckin hate life.

  • I liked the book to let the right one in

  • Lol swedish movie, Let the right one in = Låt den rätta komma in = Laut denn reatta komma in. it sounds like that

  • ..........that was deep......very deep

  • you're so damn right

  • Sequels...

  • another good vampire movie was the korean film Thirst, that's how you fucking do a vampire movie!

  • @DCioccoloni fuck yes!

  • Simple question, simple answer, because pre-teenage girls exist.

  • I can only assume your question is rhetorical TJ, because you know very well why. And for the ones that do not know I'll explain: in general, people have no taste. They can't recognize taste unless someone else tells them what is. That's why we have interior designers, people with taste that make us look like we have taste. They're not too different from movie critics, who inform people (if they are interested) of which movies have taste and which don't.

  • Ever heard of the American remake of Let the Right One in?

I've never seen the remake but I plan on seeing it and to see if it's as good as the Swedish film. And yes I do agree Twilight is stupid.

  • I don't know.

Why don't you tell me, mr "I like resident evil movies, good cinema = zombies and tits"?

If there is a problem then you're part of it you know.

  • @TheAmazingAtheist Im sorry, here's ur solution, Open up Twilight and FUCKING read and stop going by what everybody else say to bring it down...the movies cant possible say everything thats in 600-800 pages in 2 hours and btw the twilight saga is through one point perspective, thats why its more compelling in writing and another thing "Let the Right One In" is a great movie and appreciated great indie film as well as box office movies....soo0o0oo0

  • @LyricallyFree21 nontheless, twilight is a bad movie (just like the harry potter movies, they suck, too)

  • @schootingstarr and why does Twilight the movie suck?

  • @LyricallyFree21 why doesn't it?

    that's the same question

it's a fucking objective statement, why bother explaining?

but if you insist: I didn't like the actors, I didn't like the overall look, I didn't like the style vampires are presented (vampires are supposed to be evil fucktards, that fall to ashes when sunlight touches them. Instead he sparkles... WTF?!)

so tell me why it's a good movie?

    you can't

just like I can't tell you why it's a bad movie

and sorry I forgot the "imo" in my comment

  • @schootingstarr Well sorry! that these vampires arent typical...and 4 crying out loud ITS NOT FUCKIN EMO! Its a love story w/ a fantasy twist ^_^...the 1st movie will always b my favorite b/c of its intimate feel & i absolutely love indie movies anyways...& the movie fairly tells a great description of the novel & thats why i cant really explain it 2 u cuz u wont know until u read...600 pgs cant be placed into a 2 hour movie! and im guessing ur a dude, so i cant really express love stories 2 ya!

  • @LyricallyFree21 I never said they're emo, but now that you mention it...

  • @schootingstarr Oh My God, lol

  • @schootingstarr what is "imo" then?

  • @LyricallyFree21 In My Opinion

    Internet, do you speak it?

  • Both books were good

  • because art and emotion and message aren't the point of watching a movie.

we watch movies to see hot chicks / dudes and to pretend we're smart.

  • ...and also, one more thing, LTROI received a very limited release as well, so not a lot of people got to see it.

  • I feel the exact same way Atheist. I loved Let the Right One In as well as the American remake Let Me In. It disappoints me that those movies didn't do so well (well LTROI is kind of a cult success) while Twilight raked in the dough.

But AntichristRising actually had a good point, Twilight is geared toward a more mainstream audience.

  • I would be very interested to hear you compare the original Swedish version of this movie to the Hollywood remake

  • it's the same way with the music industry. it's very disapointing, and it doesn't make any fucking sense to me either lol

  • well the main problem with Let The Right One In is that u can't market film like this it is not what everyone wants too see and because its foreign and the themes and violence that is presented in the film may not sit well with everyone and lastly it doesn't have the financial support that twilight does big production companys will support it as well cause twilight is what everyone wants too see and its a shame no doubt but to everyone do see Ltroi you;ll thank me after

  • @GaryAllen10 But how can you have vampires without violence?? Its inherent in its subject matter. It's like making a zombie film without zombies.

  • @Bane2100 well thats true what your saying about Vampire and zombie films its just Ltroi is considerably more violent and bloodier and more realistic than Twilight my biggist issue with Twilight is that i personally think it sends a bad message too younger girls it is poorly written and acted the story when u analise it makes no sense at all and is filled with plot holes where,s Ltroi is a rare perfect film

  • @GaryAllen10 Twilight is a tween thing, it really isn't legitimate story telling. It is hard to make a convincing romance in my opinion. But I think part of what makes LTROI as good as it is is that it's a very ambiguous film. You can draw many different conclusions from the film. Part of what makes it so brilliant is that (I at least) can see the story as a metaphor about rape trauma more than anything. That was the first thing I thought after seeing it the first time.

  • @Bane2100 rape? in what way?

  • Because if a "cool" guy or girl says it's a good movie or song, then everybody is going to like it to feel popular. like this really good Edguy song says "you feel at ease as you flock with the masses, what do you see with your heads in their asses" and the chorus "we are never gonna be like you, we don't follow king of fools." So in my opinion, people are that ignorant because they want to be like that popular guy.

  • Your comentary is refreshingly true. I deeply admire your wanting of artistic integrity to be socially adored.

  • Why? Because watching commercial bullshit (not commercials themselves) is fun. Which would you rather see, The Dark Knight or The Stranger?

  • I liked Quarantine, and the fact that some people who like Paranormal activity (trash) and say Quarantine is crap is baffling. I also like 28 Days Later, very very good movie. I also love the sound track to one of my most favorite bands, God Speed you Black Emperor!.

  • @TearsOfWar1 I didn't much care for Quarantine, I liked the original Spanish version of it better [REC].

  • I admit, the movie was horrible. The book isn't quite so

  • @albuorkka the book sucked as well.

  • @AnimeArchive1 I wouldn't say so,it was thrilling in a way. Of course the aspect-dangerous boy meets an ordinary girl and they fall in love-is used like million times already. I think the twilight saga is porn with a mask(and that's why it's so liked)

  • @albuorkka id give it a 3/10 for killing vampires.

  • Jay Z has good songs that can be moving at times. Renegade, for example. Also, he was good on Biggie's Life After Death.

  • *not too small

  • Why the cheap crap is chosen over artful quality? Simple - because it sells better. The simple and profane messages, designed in a way that even the dumbest morons can recognize the included emotions, always sell best! Because this stuff targets the (no too small) group of mind fucked idiots.

Easy messages .... advertisement in general works this way. The agenda is always: Keep it simple and touch most basic desires. Many things, that are commercial successful, work with this formular.
