Just for your info Soviet leader Stalin decided that Mongolia must use Russian Cyrillic instead of traditional Mongolian script which was used since 1206; the time of Genghis Khan. However, since 1991 the Government of Mongolia made several attempts at reintroducing the traditional alphabet but failed due to resistance from some ex-communist rulers of Mongolia. They convinced general public using m.script is harder than using Cyrillic.

I have been to Mongolia, in fact last year for the nandaam festival, 1week after the riots hit Ulan Bataar. The city is a run down soviet type city surrounded by shanty towns. Lot of drunks and street children begging for money. I stayed at the best hotel, Kempinski, but I know they are building a Hilton too. And yes, I hv been to Ovor Mongol, Ulan Bataar is no comparison to modern Hohhot, capital of the last Mgl Empire. Ovor Mongolians are more educated and cultured compared to you folks.

There is a nice Uzbek restaurant called Samarkand owned by an Uzbek lady and she is married to a German. This restaurant is opposite the Khaan Palace. You don't believe me, check it out. Really, then why do you use cyrillic on your page? All the signs are in cyrrillic in Ulan Bataar. Your newspapers are in cyrillic. Don't lie, I HAVE BEEN TO MONGOLIA! In Ovor Mongolia, all the signs are bilingual, including expressway signs (Outer Mongolia do not have expressways), both in Chinese and Mongolian script. In Ulan Bataar, the signs are in Cyrillic, no Mongol script.
