  • i danced to this for my contemporary competition piece, such emotion in the song and easy to put my soul into the dance

  • Who is singing the solo part on this video?

  • @Tiger88873 Rafiki, in the broadway version rafiki is a female mandrill

  • fuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i hate these Broadway shows they sing dumb and don't have the umf

  • wait, i thought raffiki sung the reprise?

  • C'est merveilleux!!!

Comme le roi lion, soyons des modèles et des gens qui apportent le bonheur autour de soi. Soyns des personnes secourables.

Cela me motive personnellement à être meilleur que ce que je suis aujourd'hui.

  • What a load of crap this broadway version is, soo faakiiing sucky!!

  • i cried like a baby when i saw this on stage. The Lion King isnt just a film. It's my childhood memories. I saw it in 3D the other day and i couldnt stop crying. I miss my childhood so much, all the disney songs, characters, stories. Always in my heart. I love you, Walt Disney Productions. I love you, Mufasa. Never forgotten.

  • Is it just me or could this easily pass for a hymn? I wonder if I can get my Pastor to let us sing this in Church

  • is it me or is this version a bit more emotiional than the movie version, i do love the song and have heard many versions of it as well as can you feel the love tonite, i wish disney would get back to haveing the same heart as they used to have in their films, the heart that we all miss in movies such as the rescuers, dumbo, the little mermaid, the lion king 1/2 im not usualy a fan of sequals but tlk 2 isnt one in my opinion its a seperate story in itself, long live classic disney

  • I'm going to the musical with Justin Bieber, can't wait!!

  • I think this song is beautiful, but I think the german version is even better :)

  • Amazing show. Saw it in New York a few years ago, and yesterday from the orchestra pit in Montreal. Phenomenal!

  • this makes me cry everytime never gets old and i will always love this song no matter how old i get

  • this lady's voice is above and beyond! can't top this

  • Saw the play in London two days ago at the lyceum theatre. I was almost crying at numerous occations. It's definitely on my top 10 list of moments in life. I loved it <3<33

  • I saw this like a year ago, and I still get the shivers from listening to this song and remembering it. The Lion King's always been my favourite film, and I was ecstatic when I heard there was a Broadway musical of it.

One of the best times of my life was seeing this show <3

  • This gives me goosebumps. It's so beautiful.

  • theres a lion king 2 on broadway???

  • @eatenxinside no. lion king two the movie took some other eliments from the musical and made a movie. the musical is like both of the movies...i think

  • @eatenxinside

Lol no, they used this song in the Lion king broadway show

  • That look on Kiara's face reminds me of Tigress from Kung Fu Panda, only in her younger self

  • There are great interpritations of great artists. Go to CelineAgius channel to see a very great voice. One of them is this song. Enjoy and rate.

  • the german musical version is way better

  • I actually cried while seeing this on Broadway. Hahaha I had some SERIOUS goose bumps going on

  • I ♥ this song.

  • im disappointed on this version... in my opinion, i would rate the french version first, the japanese, then english last.... i was hoping this version was better but the french version killed it, sucks that youtube deleted the video for the french musical :(

  • ive had this song on repeat about 12 times now....i love it...and i love this vidio :D xxxx

  • I prefer this over the original version of the song. The original is still great though . :)

  • i didn't know the second part is a musical too. awesome :)

  • @SwissAuraya

There isn't.. ''He Lives In You'' was originally gonna be on the first movie for the ending, but they put the ''Circle of Life'' reprise instead. They kept ''He Lives In You'' in the Broadway version of The Lion King.

  • We're using this song in color gaurd <3

  • Chills chills chills

Oh my god.. this is the frickin' best song I have ever heard in my life!

  • o-O I thought the Broadway version used Mufasa in He Lives in You (his lyric was "they live in you, they live in me" towards Simba) and then without him in the reprise.

  • yeah that's right.. this is the reprise :)

  • I saw the Broadway play to!!!!! AMAZING!!!!!

  • O M G i saw the Broadway play of the Lion King BEST thing ever

  • I have seen the show twice, when they come back, i would see it again. Great show!!!

  • Amazing show!! Saw it on Broadway this week. A must see.

  • I think that it's the better version of lion king in broadway version

  • I saw it down in anchorage when it was up here. it was amazing.

  • Las Vegas ..

    1 word.. amazing

  • i went to this play twice..amazing amazing amazing..

    better the 2nd time!!

in Spokane and Calgary!! <3 <3

  • haha some people need spell check lol oliviarose lol

  • lion represent as CHRIST........

  • @maj0h

Not really lol, it proves that Mufasa lives in Simba's soul, it doesn't have anything to do with religion. TLK has its own religion, the great kings of the past. :p

  • The lion represents individuality.

Faith here is used more as an antithesis of unsureness. Rather than unsureness itself, which religion ultimately is.

  • @zinizterz in other words, religion is for the insecure

  • @maj0h not everything is about religion... jesus freaks much?

  • I just saw it in San Diego two days ago! This was truly amazing!

  • went to see it last week ,my daughter was over to see me from ireland .and i have to say it was brilliant

  • People. It is the most influential thing you will every see. I have personally seen it twice, and cried twice. This is so so powerful, and no one can ever sing this song better. So beautiful. All of the songs from the broadway play are the best.

  • Is this is minor key?

  • I think this is my favorite of the broadway versions. I like all of the broadway versions, but this one has a lot more power than some of the others.

  • Omg!!, Ive Been To London To See Thiss Play Livee, Omfg Its Wass Fansatic Its Worth Going To See People, Its A Once In A Life Time Exsprience Its Just Wonder, I Went Wid My School And We Loved It So I Advise U All To Go See It :D

  • my choir sang this last year with the elementry school choir and the high school choir, it was amazing.

  • i want to see it sooooo badly but is the price expensive for a family of 7?

  • uh, yes, when we went to see it it was £50 each, we were right at the front though... I think you could get tickets in the back though for about £10. I'm not sure about in the USA, but it had been running awhile, it's totally worth it though, where do you live?

  • its possible for $10? well i live in USA.

  • Maybe, as I live in the UK I don't understand the exchange of dollars to the pound but try googling "lion king musical broadway" or something... of course it depends how far away you are to if you need to pay travel to. :) hope that helps XD

  • that's pounds, and it's about three times more in value than the US Dollar. so somwhere between 25-30$ a head.

  • thank you. wow thats expensive thanks for the info! <3

  • i got a ticket for about $20 to see this. i was sitting in the balcony though.

  • @Kenshinsm um. its way more than 10 bucks hahah

  • @Kenshinsm

In Hambourg, in Germany it is very expensive. The lowest Price is about 50 € , that are about 65 $, i Guess.

Sorry... But its great. And this are just my expactions, in germany its that expenisve ive never benn to NYC I dont know, how much it is there.

  • @Kenshinsm I'm not from america but I saw this with my family...you can get the prices at the website but we paid 128$ each and we sat in the second row, we could see their sweat! haha it was awesome. and I know it's expensive but SO WORTH IT!

  • @Kenshinsm 10 pound is about 20 dollars.

  • @Kenshinsm I went to see it with my family in New York, It was 102$ for 1 ticket and we sat in the last row at the back.

  • here in the states my dad got $50 tickets through a promotion at work

  • @Kenshinsm I dont know about lion king but i went and saw Wicked and the ticket was 70 U.S. dollars.

  • Nothing Beats The BroadWay version xx

Doing this Dance for Our Section from the lion king for Theatre school

  • i went to new york only once last year with a small group. we didnt get to see lion king though i begged my teacher to change it to that instead of mary poppins, the production had taken a short two week or so break the week we were to go. we did see phantom of the opera and mary poppins though and ive seen many beautiful pictures of the lion king production

  • This song wasnt in the movie. But I got to see the Broadway Show in NYC like 2 weeks ago and this song was AMAZING when they performed it. It made me cry...

  • Omg yes I was dead in tears even at the opening scene because it was just so... so shockingly unbelievable. Im going back to see it again very soon

  • OMG your soo lucky!! I wish I could go back and see it. I keep trying to see if I can buy a DVD of it on the computer but I cant find anywhere.

Do you by any chance know where I can buy one?

  • Well Living in New Jersey, I kinda have the advantage of being a short bus ride away. ^ ^; Unfortunately I can guarantee there is no dvd. Nobody would come see the play if theres a dvd. I can guarantee though that when the play stops being showed the dvd will come out

  • well, i have a better advantage! I live in NY! bout an hour away from NYC!

  • i always try to think of this song when i think about my grandfather who passed away. it makes me cry but it always helps me cope with it better because the message this song sends is true.

  • im so having this song played at my funeral!

  • How many people actually got to the Broadway production? I was blessed enough to go see it on a band trip to New York. It was AMAZING!

  • i got to see it, and i completely agree with you, it was absolutely amazing!

  • beautifull

  • thank you for this website I was lucking form where I could download this songs THANKS :D

    I'm very thankful :D

  • I love both the movie and broadway version. :)

  • This song was actually by Lebo M, for a cd called "Rhythm of the Pridelands", which had songs inspired by the Lion King, in 1995.

They used it for the musical in '97, and the sequel in '98.

  • thanks so much! I'm so glad I know now haha!

  • And knowing...is half the battle.

  • i like the original one better

  • 3:08 is amazing

  • i had tears in my eyes when i saw the play

  • me too! i think the broadway version of this song is much better than in the movie!

  • @BlueLightingNinja ME TOO

  • @BlueLightingNinja

    Me 2! <3

  • @BlueLightingNinja So did i! When i saw it on Broadway, i was crying throughout the whole performance. I dont know how you couldn't, it was so beautiful. When the first scene started, i just lost my grip. Even hearing this song, i just start crying again. Nothing could ever top the delicate beauty of that performance.

  • @BlueLightingNinja me too! I almost cried

  • That was from "Simbas Pride", right?

Why is there a musical Version of it? I thought they only made part 1 a Musical or am I wrong?

    Whatever, it sounds great! :)

  • Youre right. This is the only song from the 2nd part in the musical. (In the musical there are 2 versions.) "They live in you" is played, when Mufasa speaks with Simba about the Stars and this here, when Simba meets Rafiki, who explains that his father is still alive. (by the way. in the musical version Rafiki is female and you can hear simba at the end)

  • Ah, so they mixed the music from Film one and 2 into the Musical, which shows only Film one?

    If so, I think I understood :-)

    Thanks for the fast answer!

  • I think they produced the musical before the 2nd movie... I have a funny feeling that they used it from the musical and put it in the second one such as the other songs they have not in the film... I have also heard that it was supposed to be the ending of TLK when they play the Circle of Life reprise and they decided to use it to open the second movie instead... but I think it was in the musical first, whether they had it planned in the first movie or not... hope that helps :)

  • God. This song it's so amazing. It makes my heart flutter, my lips curve into a funny smile and it leaves me insane, wishing to see this musical. *sniffs*

  • I saw the lion king on broadway just last week and it was amazing!

  • I've always enjoyed this version better. Seeing TLK on live stage was unbelievably amazing!!!

  • second that it is an awesome show

  • this version has so much presence....it is amazing.

i love the fact i have it on my ipod :P

  • when i saw this live this song made me tear up. it was awesome. musicals are just infinitely more awesome in person but this recording still manages to hold its own

  • This is an amazing song. And the musical is awsome! I saw it in sacromento. My favorite play and disney movie:)

  • I didn't realize that the second movie was in the Broadway production. Is it a separate show from the first or is it combined?

Can someone who knows please respond.

  • I don't think the second one is in the musical... the song is actually a part of the first story, it just wasn't in the first movie, so they decided they liked it and put it in the second. That's my guess, but i haven't seen it.

  • wow 2:05 brought a tear to my eyes

  • I know right? It is such a touching song that I am sure it wasnt only you who got tears in your eyes!! It is the best song ever!

  • Watched it in NYC about a month ago. I almost cried. xD I wanted to sing along with all the songs, but someone 'shushed' me.. .___.;

  • WOW

i love this version. it's so powerful.

  • AWESOME

The best song from TLK 2

  • I LOVE IT

  • I saw the show on Broadway in february, it was amazing and this will always stick in my mind as an amazing song

  • GIVES ME GOOSE BUMPS!!!!

  • I love this so much! I saw the Lion King musical in Seattle just last night, and both times this song is sung is my favorite. The man who plays Mufasa and Mkhize, Rafiki's player, are amazing singers. x3

  • wait one question, how is there a broadway version of he lives in you if there was only the 1st Lion King on broadway?

  • The broadway actors do there versions of the song of the second movie. but they only recorded it. they didn't act it or anything.

  • no, its part of the broadway show... I'm not sure if it was written for the show and then adapted for the movie, I'm pretty sure they released TLK2 later than TLK the Musical... But it is part of the show, Mufusa sings it once to Simba and then Rafiki repeats it when he meets Simba grown up for the first time, it is basically where they look over the pool and Simba sees Mufusa's ghost.

  • This is the reprise version, where Rafiki is singing, in the musical interlude Mufusa's ghost appears and tells him to return, then Simba sings (the male voice) if you'd like I will post the first appearance of the song from the Musical.

  • oh ok I never saw the Broadway Show as much as I want to thanks

  • broadway singing is better than movie

  • Of course it is, broadway rules. But the movie is still awesome.

  • no debating tht

  • HE LIVES IN YOU!

YAAAAAAAAAY! I LUV LIONS *and of course lion king!*

  • brings ya back to the old days ha

  • THANK YOU.

My school is dancing to this song and i've been trying to find it.

  • omg thank you!!!! i cudnt find this song in brodway version on youtube!!! this is my fav song..lion king is my favorite movie!!

(1, 2,1/2) my fav character in all of them is kiara i <3 lion king!!! i even saw the play

  • ok i obivously have to make it clear from my last comment that i liked TLK 2, i just said that compared to the first one if i hasd to choose i would rather watch the first one because i believe it was the better of the two. i love both though especially the music, but He lives in You is my favorite song.

  • I love, love, LOVE this song! Usually I don't like the broadway versions of the Lion King songs but this one is surprisingly okay. This was my most favorite song in the entire TLK 2 movie, right next to "Zira's Lullaby."

  • is there any way you could put this song somewhere to download?

  • hmm...i don't think it is the best version i prefere german and french^^ but i liked it =) the voice isn't so strong like in other versions . . .

  • AWESOME!!!!!

  • i think lion king 3 sucks

  • finally someone who agrees with me!!!

  • :) hehe

  • me to.

the first was the best !!

  • like as in lion king 2 or lion king 1 1/2???

  • lion king 2

  • If you hate TLK 2 so much then why are you watching a video about it? The video's title clearly states that this is a TLK 2 video. Leave the rest of us loyal Lion King fans and go watch something else if you hate TLK 2 SO BADLY!

  • i didnt say i hated it. i said it sucked compared to the first one. i mean it was an ok movie. I happen to love this song btw. Lion King is my favorite childhood movie, so who are you to be telling me that im not a loyal Lion King fan?

  • Stunning, the voice is just so amazing

  • i love the lion king 2

  • this song always makes me cry...it's so beautiful. i <3 lion king!

  • ;( 5*****

  • it's great

  • You know what I just realized kiara has hair starting to grow on her tail when she is young but simba never did

  • its good but not as good as the original ... but nothing could beat the original xx

  • I think the lyrics from the german version are better then the english.. but the english version is also nice:D
