i cried like a baby when i saw this on stage. The Lion King isnt just a film. It's my childhood memories. I saw it in 3D the other day and i couldnt stop crying. I miss my childhood so much, all the disney songs, characters, stories. Always in my heart. I love you, Walt Disney Productions. I love you, Mufasa. Never forgotten.
is it me or is this version a bit more emotiional than the movie version, i do love the song and have heard many versions of it as well as can you feel the love tonite, i wish disney would get back to haveing the same heart as they used to have in their films, the heart that we all miss in movies such as the rescuers, dumbo, the little mermaid, the lion king 1/2 im not usualy a fan of sequals but tlk 2 isnt one in my opinion its a seperate story in itself, long live classic disney

I saw this like a year ago, and I still get the shivers from listening to this song and remembering it. The Lion King's always been my favourite film, and I was ecstatic when I heard there was a Broadway musical of it.
One of the best times of my life was seeing this show <3
@eatenxinside no. lion king two the movie took some other eliments from the musical and made a movie. the musical is like both of the movies...i think
im disappointed on this version... in my opinion, i would rate the french version first, the japanese, then english last.... i was hoping this version was better but the french version killed it, sucks that youtube deleted the video for the french musical :(
There isn't.. ''He Lives In You'' was originally gonna be on the first movie for the ending, but they put the ''Circle of Life'' reprise instead. They kept ''He Lives In You'' in the Broadway version of The Lion King.
o-O I thought the Broadway version used Mufasa in He Lives in You (his lyric was "they live in you, they live in me" towards Simba) and then without him in the reprise.
Not really lol, it proves that Mufasa lives in Simba's soul, it doesn't have anything to do with religion. TLK has its own religion, the great kings of the past. :p
People. It is the most influential thing you will every see. I have personally seen it twice, and cried twice. This is so so powerful, and no one can ever sing this song better. So beautiful. All of the songs from the broadway play are the best.
Omg!!, Ive Been To London To See Thiss Play Livee, Omfg Its Wass Fansatic Its Worth Going To See People, Its A Once In A Life Time Exsprience Its Just Wonder, I Went Wid My School And We Loved It So I Advise U All To Go See It :D
uh, yes, when we went to see it it was £50 each, we were right at the front though... I think you could get tickets in the back though for about £10. I'm not sure about in the USA, but it had been running awhile, it's totally worth it though, where do you live?
Maybe, as I live in the UK I don't understand the exchange of dollars to the pound but try googling "lion king musical broadway" or something... of course it depends how far away you are to if you need to pay travel to. :) hope that helps XD

i went to new york only once last year with a small group. we didnt get to see lion king though i begged my teacher to change it to that instead of mary poppins, the production had taken a short two week or so break the week we were to go. we did see phantom of the opera and mary poppins though and ive seen many beautiful pictures of the lion king production
This song wasnt in the movie. But I got to see the Broadway Show in NYC like 2 weeks ago and this song was AMAZING when they performed it. It made me cry...
Well Living in New Jersey, I kinda have the advantage of being a short bus ride away. ^ ^; Unfortunately I can guarantee there is no dvd. Nobody would come see the play if theres a dvd. I can guarantee though that when the play stops being showed the dvd will come out
i always try to think of this song when i think about my grandfather who passed away. it makes me cry but it always helps me cope with it better because the message this song sends is true.
@BlueLightingNinja So did i! When i saw it on Broadway, i was crying throughout the whole performance. I dont know how you couldn't, it was so beautiful. When the first scene started, i just lost my grip. Even hearing this song, i just start crying again. Nothing could ever top the delicate beauty of that performance.
Youre right. This is the only song from the 2nd part in the musical. (In the musical there are 2 versions.) "They live in you" is played, when Mufasa speaks with Simba about the Stars and this here, when Simba meets Rafiki, who explains that his father is still alive. (by the way. in the musical version Rafiki is female and you can hear simba at the end)
I think they produced the musical before the 2nd movie... I have a funny feeling that they used it from the musical and put it in the second one such as the other songs they have not in the film... I have also heard that it was supposed to be the ending of TLK when they play the Circle of Life reprise and they decided to use it to open the second movie instead... but I think it was in the musical first, whether they had it planned in the first movie or not... hope that helps :)
God. This song it's so amazing. It makes my heart flutter, my lips curve into a funny smile and it leaves me insane, wishing to see this musical. *sniffs*
when i saw this live this song made me tear up. it was awesome. musicals are just infinitely more awesome in person but this recording still manages to hold its own
I don't think the second one is in the musical... the song is actually a part of the first story, it just wasn't in the first movie, so they decided they liked it and put it in the second. That's my guess, but i haven't seen it.
This is just amazing. It's so much better than the movie version. I can't stop listening to it! The music's so powerful and breathtaking. Thanks so much for uploading this! :D
I love this so much! I saw the Lion King musical in Seattle just last night, and both times this song is sung is my favorite. The man who plays Mufasa and Mkhize, Rafiki's player, are amazing singers. x3
no, its part of the broadway show... I'm not sure if it was written for the show and then adapted for the movie, I'm pretty sure they released TLK2 later than TLK the Musical... But it is part of the show, Mufusa sings it once to Simba and then Rafiki repeats it when he meets Simba grown up for the first time, it is basically where they look over the pool and Simba sees Mufusa's ghost.
This is the reprise version, where Rafiki is singing, in the musical interlude Mufusa's ghost appears and tells him to return, then Simba sings (the male voice) if you'd like I will post the first appearance of the song from the Musical.
ok i obivously have to make it clear from my last comment that i liked TLK 2, i just said that compared to the first one if i hasd to choose i would rather watch the first one because i believe it was the better of the two. i love both though especially the music, but He lives in You is my favorite song.
I love, love, LOVE this song! Usually I don't like the broadway versions of the Lion King songs but this one is surprisingly okay. This was my most favorite song in the entire TLK 2 movie, right next to "Zira's Lullaby."
If you hate TLK 2 so much then why are you watching a video about it? The video's title clearly states that this is a TLK 2 video. Leave the rest of us loyal Lion King fans and go watch something else if you hate TLK 2 SO BADLY!
i didnt say i hated it. i said it sucked compared to the first one. i mean it was an ok movie. I happen to love this song btw. Lion King is my favorite childhood movie, so who are you to be telling me that im not a loyal Lion King fan?
i danced to this for my contemporary competition piece, such emotion in the song and easy to put my soul into the dance

I love this so much! I saw the Lion King musical in Seattle just last night, and both times this song is sung is my favorite. The man who plays Mufasa and Mkhize, Rafiki's player, are amazing singers. x3

wait one question, how is there a broadway version of he lives in you if there was only the 1st Lion King on broadway?
crazinikki815 2 years ago
The broadway actors do there versions of the song of the second movie. but they only recorded it. they didn't act it or anything.
Orangeapple247 2 years ago
no, its part of the broadway show...

This was my most favorite song in the entire TLK 2 movie, right next to "Zira's Lullaby."

is there any way you could put this song somewhere to download?

hmm...i don't think it is the best version i prefere german and french^^ but i liked it =) the voice isn't so strong like in other versions . . .

it DOES SUCK! the only good one is the real one. The original Lion King!!

If you hate TLK 2 so much then why are you watching a video about it? The video's title clearly states that this is a TLK 2 video. Leave the rest of us loyal Lion King fans and go watch something else if you hate TLK 2 SO BADLY!
GalaxiaStars 3 years ago
i didnt say i hated it. i said it sucked compared to the first one. i mean it was an ok movie. I happen to love this song btw. Lion King is my favorite childhood movie, so who are you to be telling me that im not a loyal Lion King fan?
