@MulletjuiceL119 there's one technique (the safest but not the best sounding) which is called fry.......look for it somewhere on youtube there are hundreds of videos explaining.......and then there's false chords, which is harder and used especially in death and black metal........fry may be hard to understand at first, but once you find out the way of producing that sound, it'll be very easy to scream, growl, both high shrieks and low growls, but, as I said, it's not the best sounding technique

@BECKERvaiMALMSTEEN66 It's not so muc that that we have an issue with; composing melodies is a key part of the songwriting process, and many MANY bands now have a way around having to actually put musical knowledge into the vocal writing. I'm NOT saying that applies to Bodom, Alexi is incredibly talented, but to many of today's "vocalists" who do nothing BUT scream. Especially those awful scenie weenie screamo bands who put zero effort into the songwriting process cuz they "don't have to" now.

I didn't like screaming at first, but that was mostly because I wasn't used to it. I am a firm believer that certain types of music can alter the way you think, and the more you listen, the more permanent this becomes. I don't know any statistics, but my own personal experience with people that listen to this type of music exclusively tend to be wound up and angry all the time, leading up to the constant will to bash someone.

Lots of metal is about things like honor and fighting for what you believe in (See Ensiferum) or just simply about the intense beauty of the natural world (See some songs by Wintersun). Metal is intense, and therefore is about expressing intense emotions, and describing intense things. Thus, vocals, instruments, and themes are intense (screaming.) Bashing someone because of it means you can't control yourself.
