  • And seriously, why the hell are you comparing a midtower to an all-in-one?

  • @iced8383 So Dave could shut up. I know it is pointless

  • Also, the iMac gets so overheated that you can almost use it to toast your bread. Aren't macs revolutionary?

  • Macs are more vulnerable than PC's. It is just that nobody targets Macs because not enough people use them.

  • @bjisgie I agree and disagree. I think they are vulnerable at times. And they have their points like any OS would. Other wise explain hacking tosh. Doesn't work perfectly. But still. Someone fucked with it enough to make it work for OEM machines.

  • So is your dream to work for the genius bar one day?

  • As I was saying, Apple computers are terribly overpriced. I'm getting a desktop with a six-core AMD, 6GB of ram, and an ATI Radeon 5770, and it's only 829.99. A Mac Pro with the same specs? About 4,000 dollars. If you remember the TAM, it was way overpriced. I will admit that the design was cool though. I don't know why it was 7,000 dollars when it was not a very high end computer. The specs were pedestrian at best. My laptop was $600. A MacBook Pro with the same specs? $1500.

  • Stupid YouTube character limit...

Apple has always been behind PCs when it comes to technology. Back in 2007, Apple has just began making 802.11n Wifi cards standard in there computers, while PC users had gotten it two years ago. And it'll be several years before USB 3.0 becomes standard on a Mac, while PC users are already getting ready for it. And Macs are overpriced. I'll state why, but unfortunately I don't have enough characters left to do so.

  • Macs are cheaper than PCs? Seriously?

    1. Why are you adding crap that I don't need to the PC? I don't need bluetooth, I don't need etc.

    2. Windows 7 Ultimate is not needed. OS usually comes with the PC, and there are acceptable OSes like Windows 7 Home Premium and so forth.

iMacs are about $1800 for a computer that is about as fast as a $700 computer. With that big money, you could get some of the best PCs out there with a crapload of hard drive space, RAM space, etc.

  • Continuing due to the character limit....

Do Macs have Blu-ray drives? I don't think so. Heck, there's not even an option for them because Apple wants you to buy/rent movies from iTunes. That's one advantage PCs will have over Macs for a long time. And what's so great about Bluetooth? Seriously, I've used a Bluetooth mouse with a Mac before. The mouse kept on getting disconnected. I've had a far better experience with a PC in four months then I had of Macs my whole life.

  • @iced8383

    1. Yes because that is Apple's vision on media themselves. Personally i store all my media from any format onto an HDD in the 1st place, and the only Blu-Ray player i got in my house is the one in the entertainment center.

    2. Your Bluetooth problems are because, A. Batteries or B. The Bluetooth chip in that very computer is bad.

A part will go bad in every computer eventuly. If macward66 was still around, i would correct him all the time. But then i would get tired doing so.

  • @techhelper1 Actually I happened to be using the bluetooth mouse on a brand new Mac. Still sucked after trying it on every computer in my house that had bluetooth. And equalize both platforms? Windows 7 Professional is probably the equivalent to a Mac. And you clearly are a Mac fanboy because you said that the possibilities in Snow Leopard are "endless." Heck, I can play a ton of games on a PC. For a Mac you have to install software (Wine, Parallels, Bootcamp, to name a few) to game.

  • @iced8383 Well I'm a HUGE linux fan and I enjoy the hell outta playing me a game or two here or there. I have even made several videos in Final Cut myself on my Mac. I as well use Windows from time to time. But I have to agree with the bluetooth mouse statement. Just so you know it's a pain in the ass to go threw but there are drivers around that can allow you to customize the sensitivity of the mouse so that it's not so loose or so rough to move around your screen. =)

  • @techhelper1 And while I will agree that iTunes is Apple's version of media, it kind of sucks that Macs don't have Blu-ray. And while my TV does have a Blu-ray DVD player, sometimes I'd rather watch a movie on a monitor because the 24" that I have has a better resolution than the 61" hooked up to the Blu-ray player, so sometimes I like watching DVDs on my monitor because of the better pictur quality.

  • @techhelper1 I disagree that it's a bluetooth issue on the computer. I'm sure other bluetooth devices work okay on his PC or Mac which ever the system he's using. But I have to say. Truly it boils down to the drivers for the device on the system. If he has a poor drive for the device it may make the device work poorly. I've had my fair share of those issues.

  • @iced8383 Actually Blu-ray is one of the main reasons why my MacBook Pro is gathering dust. Basically the only way I could watch Blu-ray movies was booting into Windows and using an external drive. Now anyone who prefers using OS X ought to feel offended for having to use Windows and plug an external drive into his laptop.

  • @iced8383 Now with that Tech guy I MIGHT agree it was a battery here or there issue. But a driver can cause a device to be connected endlessly sending signals to your PC. It may not request a movement but it can drain the battery power down to low levels and even cause it to die within the following day. And bluetooth is still in no way perfect. So I agree 100% iced8383 whats so special about it when you can use a wireless USB. Now if your a gamer use a wired mouse. Quicker response.

  • @kostsbullshit In case you haven't noticed, it was with a Mac, and the Bluetooth connection kept dropping. Mice with USB receivers are far better than Bluetooth ones.

  • You are by far the dumbest mac fanboy I have ever seen. You clearly think that Windows is crap, and that you need Windows 7 Ultimate. Heck, I've used Macs since I knew how to use a computer, and only in April I got a PC with Windows 7 Home Premium, which is a very good operating system. If I had $2,000 dollars to spend, I would get an awesome PC rather than a relatively low-end Mac. If I wanted to watch movies, I would get a PC with a Blue-ray drive and a good GPU. To be Continued...

  • @iced8383

    1. Windows 7 Ultimate is needed because there is no limitations in Snow Leopard at all. Like Windows 7 Ultimate.

    2. I am not a Mac fanboy i am trying to equalize both platforms.

  • @iced8383 If you want to get a PC that is your deal. If you want a Mac go get one. I am not stopping you from making your own decisions. But saying what isn't true will get you corrected.

  • What's so great about a bluetooth mouse?

  • You could save money on the OS Ubuntu all the way everyone forgets that.

  • LOL techhelper1 is an OEM now, you completely failed the point...MAC is overpriced

compared to PC's, you're going to decide what a person looks for in a PC by upping the price of the machine with useless crap? ROFL $3k for a 1156 platform you are hilarious kid

  • @VincentX202 , Upping the price, wow. You got to add Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, the iSight/Mic. Cause to have make everything equal all together. Which you don't do. This was about Dave, not you.

Since you say Mac is overpriced and you didn't say your facts, it makes you an ask speaker.

  • @techhelper1 i know the facts lol

still overpriced, i dont need bluetooth or wifi, look i can still use the internet and youtube kid, so am i still forced to pay 2k for bluetooth and wifi PC rofl

you want to make it equal then make the mac affordable with the latest computing technology which is what costs the most, the extra crap is irrelevant and not everyone will need a 27" monitor worth $1k

  • @VincentX202 You still don't get the fact that an IPS display is better than a regular display. Let alone since you have to include spec to spec which Dave did not do he owned himself because he did not include all the things that the mac had. People want quality in what they want. I guess you don't.

  • @techhelper1 i know what IPS is, why do i need it? explain please, why do you have to compare the price of an item vs another, are you so bumbed out that the gaming PC has the same hardware specs and you don't have to pay $2199 for it?

gaming pc isn't an all in one so its useless to compare anyway but the fact that the tower has that hardware for that price it is an option that consumers have

and compared to the mac it is cheap

  • @VincentX202 Gaming PCs arent real useful with monitors of that high resolution, sure it might look better, but it puts more strain on the GPU. This is why benchmarks comparing 3 different resolutions, the larger resolution always performs less than lower resolutions. One thing techhelper fails to understand.

  • @kaosum2 really? mine handles 5760x1080 perfectly, cards sit at 30-35c and 40-60c on load, but yeah your correct, low end video cards cannot handle higher resolutions, especially on mobility chips, then again ppl looking for all in ones aren't really looking for more performance out of their computer

and leads back to reality if they don't know the differences they shouldn't be comparing

  • @VincentX202 meh don't worry, this dude is just trolling, damn bish doesn't know a thing what hes talking about.

  • I can get all of those features in linux. Fedora, ubuntu, red hat. Yeah, Mac OS X stole the ideas from open source linux operating systems.

  • @ViciousDave4Life I believe we are talking Mac VS. Windows here. Not Linux. Mac OS X had Spaces before Ubuntu, that i know of, i use it on my home server, plus my website.

  • @ViciousDave4Life Then why didn't you switch to it, since it is cheaper Dave. Why is that. What makes you keep your Mac.

  • Thats the thing you mac fanboys do not get about custom builds. We dont overload our systems with crap. We get what we NEED. I got a webcam in my laptop, I dont use it.

We can get top quality-performance hardware for cheaper than an iMac. We do not rely on having to goto an Apple store, or ship the computer to Apple directly for tech support. We are not dependent from a single source of tech support. We can upgrade-add more hardware to our machines.

    Can you?

  • @kaosum2 what dont you get? YOU cant compare a custom build to an all in one and say the custom build is cheaper. OF COURSE IT IS. lol.

  • The argument of spec for spec is stupid. You need wireless-N? No you dont need bluetooth keyboard and mouse. You dont need a webcam. I have went years without one, I can go years more. IBUYPOWER machines are built for gamers, so wireless keyboard and mouse is just out, it doesnt have the same speeds as wired.

Do you use the corporate functions of OSX? No you dont, so why do I need those features in Windows? You dont need Ultimate edition.

  • @kaosum2 i dont give a fuck what you need. I get it all you dont. so include it in the price or go home. you dont game 24 hours a day do you? wireless maybe nice for when your not. Go buy a clue with all that money you saved buying iBuyPower lol

  • @AppleSoldier So I should just conform with the rest of the sheep and just get whats given to me? Fuck that. I do not want a computer company telling me what I NEED when I dont WANT it. I like control of my system. You again state you "get it all", wheres that same mentality when it comes to the iPad? You dont get it all without dongles.

  • @kaosum2 Wireless-N is in the iMac, as well as the webcam, and the bluetooth. You have to spec everything spec to spec. If it has bluetooth you got to add bluetooth. So it equals out. Ultimate = Everything Unlocked like Snow Leopard.

  • @techhelper1 Ok then, find me a current iMac without laptop ram or graphics card, then we will talk spec to spec.

  • Who needs ten? Some one who uses a usb mouse, keyboard, headphones, webcam, external hdd, and various devices that charge via usb (kindle, mp3 player, iPad, phone, whatever). not trying to defend VD, just giving you an answer.

You didn't help your case by doing the whole "you need Windows Ultimate to equal snow leopard" thing. Seriously? What does it take to get through your head that you don't need Ultimate.

Don't know how ninite came into the picture. *cough* camstudio *cough*

  • @korwinblue camstudio doesn't record the webcam. I am talking about an app that lets you do all 3. Windows 7 Ultimate is the version is everything unlocked. What does it take to get into your head it takes 1 os to do all, not 6 of them. Why do you think there is Mac OS X, then Mac OS X Server. And Ninite was there because it would be an easy way for VD to switch all his crap over saving him time. OH SHIT!, i forgot to tell him to check Windows Updates daily, too late he is infected.

  • @techhelper1 Ahhh, pwned? LOL, camstudio does record from webcam! Maybe you're a little behind. And, yes, everything is unlocked. Is it worth it? I mean, you can get most of its functionality from freeware anyway. And Windows doesn't update daily. If there is an update, it tells you. Heck, I think you could set it up to download the update automaticaly and install on shutdown. I have yet to receive a virus on my current Windows 7 image.

  • @korwinblue Ya, use camstudio or Expression encoder for screen capture if you can't afford camtasia. FRAPS is more for games and it can record microphone.

The only thing Ultimate has that is kinda useful for the end user is bitlocker... which Truecrypt does for free.

I guess booting from Virtual hard disk is kinda cool... except you can only boot into windows based OS's.

Again, not arguing with you, or against you, I just don't like misinformation.

  • @korwinblue Oh, and the iMac uses a mobile, last-gen GPU with 512mb of Vram. I didn't watch VD's video, but I wouldn't be surprised if ibuypower's video card is at least 1GB. (it makes a difference)

  • @korwinblue the imac card can be optioned to 1gb too. get a clue.
