It's a shame there are so few video recordings of JD playing live, because Curtis was obviously a very gifted visual performer, as well as a good vocalist. I love this clip - the song is fantastic just to listen to, but here you get to see it being expressed, as well as just hearing it. Even though his dancing looks a bit strange at first, the honesty and un-pretentiousness shines through. They're putting a lot of thought into both sound and visuals. I like that.
@artarthur2 I saw that, then today on Facebook I saw an article from rolling stone that Disney is pulling the shirt now. A couple of the shirts are on ebay going for $200 plus. Crazy. And I live 30 minutes from Disney. I should have bought six of em, flipped on ebay and I could have paid off my credit card debt.....oh well...
A few weeks ago, a girl in my math class had a seizurre. It was horrifying. All I could think was She's Lost Control. I'll never listen to this song the same way again. It's even more terrifying than before.
I know I always appreciate shots of the band, but this time it seems the camera guy moved away from Mr, Curtis too many times when it seemed he was ready to unleach the Ian Moves.
@dewaldjohan - They formed in July of 76' & this happened in July of 79'. As musicians they showed a shit ton of promise very quickly. They were only together for such a short period of time & look at the imprint they left on music. The drummer is ranked as one of the best in the World. This was music before its time & in that respect exactly like Jimi Hendrix's playing. The rawness & imperfections of it all plus the earnestness of Ian's lyrics in hindsight. Beautiful and timeless.
@Radioheadhead90 - You're right about the gig but Warsaw formed in 76' then they played their first gig in 77'. The name of the band changed in 78' to JD. May 1980 was the end of Joy Division. It's crazy that normally one year would be extremely arbitrary & pointless to discuss, but with this band it really shows you how many songs they wrote & produced in 1-2years.
Paul Morley's book about the band contains a reprint of an interview with Andy McCluskey where even at the time, he says "Joy Division will leave their mark." It's also worth getting for a brilliant interview with Bernard, Steve and Hooky.
No, actually it isn´t. When you have a seizure, you totally loose the balance, and control of your body. The myth about the whole "Ian Curtis" persona, says that when he dances, he avoids to get a fit. (Bad English lol)
@18jamescott omg, the first thing I said was that I didn't understand why people pressed the dislike button so much, and then everybody replied me k? I gave my opinion too!
My eyes start to look like his when I don't get enough sleep or if I am going through some kind of mental lock down type thing. You don't talk to anybody and you just wanna do what you want to do.
The other day my friend asked,"Hey,are you high? Nobody else wants to ask so I will." I just laughed and shrugged my shoulders. It's none of their business to know what I'm going through.
Just recently found Joy Division, and I can't stop listening to them.

@LePinkMarshmallow *laughs* Well, what's the point of clicking on the "like" button, then?
