Wow... I just hate english dubs. Americans sound so idiotic when they dub over other languages. I'd rather watch everything in its native language instead of any kind of dub. I wonder if it really is that because americans are so frigging lazy that they don't care a lot for subtitles? or just that they could focus these for the younger audince?

The latter one doesn't always seem the reason because Shin Seiki Evangelion clearly isn't made for children (or is it? :O), so why dubrape it?

Great show. Watched it in a matter of days. I think its a slow start but after BLANKS death it stepped up, font get me wrong, i loved BLANK but his death picked the show up! I never thought i could find anime as good as Evangelion, but man, here it is!

This is one of my favourite animes that have impressed me in recent years ... the only problem is I think it has a rather weak start ... and you'll probably have a hard time convincing other people to watch it past the first few episodes ... it may seem just like light hearted nonsense for the first few episodes... but after episode 8 that's when most people should become hooked and it's uphill from there

@superzilla784 The mecha aspect of this show is pretty irrelevant. There are philosophic intricacies and meaningful qualities of this show that are far beyond anything I have ever watched in my life. You would have to watch it from start to finish to have a good opinion on it, because its totally unpredictable and a total mindf*ck. Its animation is incredible, and its the most meaningful thing I have ever seen. Like its seriously been an inspiration in my life.

Both of you are right: He's Yuri Lowenthal who plays both Ben and Simon. Also Castlevania Judgement's Alucard, Matt Miller in Saints Row the Third, Little Guy and Derek Styles in the Trauma series and is an angster in a few of his roles.

Good show for beginners to the mecha genre but its not the best. It gets a lot of criticism from mecha anime fans because TTGL took about 90% of the shows content from older series like Getter Robo (spiral energy, mechs the size of galaxies, humans under ground, beastmen), Gunbuster (the ocean in space, Kamina's Inazuma Kick), Ashita no Joe (Kamina's death scene) and the Gurren Lagann robot design is a direct rip off of Zambot 3. Good series, but not as original as you think it is.

To sum up, In Code Geass, I fully experienced that epic story through the fantastic voice acting and great story telling, And I could fully understand all emotions the writers were trying to project (which is why we watch them?). And to be honest I couldn't stand Rivalz voice in Japanese... no offence, as it seemed a running joke of some sort which I didn't get... Oh and that ubiquitous Hinata Hyuga voice that alot of Japanese female character girls have. with all things some are shit....

While the original Japanese cast is amazing, the dub cast does a spectacular job. I personally thought the spirit of the story was much better expressed and brought to life in English. I've watched the entire series completely through in both languages, and not just based my judgment on less than 3 minutes of an English trailer. They only reason people hate the dub is because they're so used to the Japanese voices.

This is the dub that pierces the heavens, so don't listen to all the hate.
