No matter how flawed Nora & Frank were (especially Frank), I always thought Ken Russell & Roger Daltrey made you sympathize for them here. And Tommy still cares for them, and puts them together. A moving moment.
Daltry has a great voice. Didn't have the show appeal of Jagger, or the ultra coolness factor of Morrison, and he obviously wasn't a Beatle. But, in any other era, he would've likely stood out as The Awesome Frontman.
To hell with trans human death technology in the name of GOD. I hope all we see soon.. the only thing about a cross that saves is what lives inside us for love. Never does a church dogma rule us. Watch and see the trashed world they created survive beyond them, as they fade away.
@cenrockon01 Yes he is Roger Daltrey ( the lead singer of the who). He played the character Tommy in the movie Tommy based off of the famous The Who album Tommy.

TITANIC IS BETTER THAN AVATAR. THAT IS A FACT. HOWEVER, AVATAR HAS MADE $940 MILLION MORE THAN TITANIC. WE HAVE THE CHANCE TO CHANGE THIS. TITANIC IS BEING RE-RELEASED INTO CINEMAS IN 3D NEXT YEAR TO CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE SINKING OF TITANIC. IF EVERYONE GOES TO SEE IT, THEN TITANIC WILL RECLAIM IT'S CORRECT POSITION AS THE MOST SUCCESSFUL FILM OF ALL TIME. TELL ALL OF YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO GET OUT AND GO TO SEE IT. ALSO, PLEASE SPREAD THIS MESSAGE.
So your mother dies, and the first thing you do is go for a swim, and then a hike, to dramatically end just as the sun begins to rise over the horizion? EPIC!
One of the most moving experiences of my youth were these closing scenes from "Tommy" Wonderful to be able to recapture these moments watching this awesome clip. Thank you so much
one thing i love about this version is thers alot of guitar in the backing music between verses. In their live performances its vry toned down altho im sure townsend could play those riffs if he chose to.
The opening scene brought a tear to my eye-- a child's anguish in the denial stage of grief for his dead mother. The video is a touching artistic expression of the pain and struggle associated with personal growth on the road to maturity - clinging, pleading, destroying, exploring, re-discovering, accepting, and finally celebrating the fruits of spiritual labor. I had always thought the lyric was "Heal me," but I think this movie version says, "Hear me." And so it goes.
@bhincc4 when tommy's talk to his dead mom he is saying "hear me." but as he's running through the burning destruction, he begins to sing "heal me, heal... me..."
@bhincc4 when tommy's talk to his dead mom he is saying "hear me." but as he's running through the burning destruction, he begins to sing "heal me, heal... me..."
during the "listening to you" part there's a high voice that's very faint . dare i say cowbellesque? anyway, is that ann margret? and yes i gave it another listen and it's NOT my mom, so.....
doesn't it bother anyone else that the lyrics were changed from "heal me" to "hear me"? It always bothers the hell out of me whenever I watch the movie.
