  • lovely nails..who's your manicurist?

  • you have girly nails ;)

    nice tutorial btw

  • i bought a nylon strings yesterday but i got frustrated because it doesnt sound good.

  • Hey, you're fantastic man!!!!....whose song is the one you are playing at the beginning of the tutorial???? can you tell me the name of any guitarist doing something like that , like that style??? thaaanks

  • awesome

  • merci Rod!!!

  • i freestroke atleast one a day

  • me too.. if I am bored I do it a lot - but too much freestroking will make it sore.

  • Was this made on Apr. 1st

  • gosh freestroke is so hard, and i don't think this video does enough to describe it. i don't exactly know freestroke technique on steel strings, probably less intense, but on nylon it's a beast. this is however a great way to start.

you NLG guys should do some nylon string tutorial videos, maybe some classical

  • nylon string lessons coming soon - stay tuned...and subscribe to our channel - rock on!

    DT

  • Just breaking your balls man. I enjoy the lesson and have benefited from taking on a new technique/style

  • one on one

mabey a steel slide here and there haha

  • gr8 lesson

  • I know i have the same problem......

  • 0:00 to 0:27 please, give me a tab or o score !!

  • theres nothing like nails.

  • what bout the back stroke or the breast stroke?

  • lol

  • That was nice. Thank you.

  • Long nails.... -.-

  • must have them if you play on acoustic

  • not necessarily. i find that a lack of nails gives you a different tone :P

  • Okay then...

  • or finger picks. i use the same picks i use for the banjo, as did townes van zandt.

  • I can never get a good feel for the strings when i use finger picks. I think it would be better to have really long nails or just use your finger tips.

  • You don't really need long nails, between one or two millimeters is just nice.

  • i agree i dont use my nails at all

  • I play little bit on acoustic. I always used fingertips. For me it's more difficult to play with long nails. I thought that's for everyone. And I was a little impaired when he said "must have them". ;D Also long nails sounds not so good to me... Long nails makes loud and kinda wheezy sound and finger tips makes soft sound.

  • Love the melody he plays in the intro. Also, that's a great sounding acoustic.

  • Nice

  • hahaha free strokes no homo

  • Great stuff!!! Thanks!

  • Awesome finger picking lessons.... i just cant get over the fact that he looks like Speed Racer....lol

  • Nobody cares about who's comments are first. I find it sad that being the first to comment actually brings you joy, especially when the comment consists of nothing but "first" or "first comment". How about commenting something actually related to the video? Like...

Great lesson on fingerstyle/picking. I love Simon & Garfunkel but some songs' fingerstyle is beyond me. This video helped me a lot! Thanks! :)
