I can't stand this album, I'm sorry but is really too soft for me. Don't bullshit me with his voice being so good and shit, it's not hard to sing pop/rock
@br00t4lbreakdownzfuk In no way was I taking pops side. I'm saying it's more difficult to have a melodic voice than a heavy one. Instrumentals in metal are obviously a lot more difficult. I'm not bashing man I love Corey Taylor and Stone Sour. The dude's one of my idols.
Cory is by far the best singer to go from slipknot to this just amazing and it's truly amazing whatyou can do with all those emotions that run through your mind and heart
this is one of my fav cds I bought in a while I have been a huge fan of stone sour since the beg. this cd while there is only maybe one true ballad is full of great songs normally know a days you skip through a cd because lack of good tracks me personally I havent yet !! great tunes guys.
I love this song. I'm a Christian and it makes me think of this girl I know who is also my best friend and I love and still do love her so much. She has such a loving and caring heart for God and others. I thought she was just perfect and I had such strong feelings for her but she told me as much as she does like me, she doesn't feel like we should be together. I was so crushed cuz she's such a blessing to my life. I love you Sarah.
@Farrdaddy1 this girl at my school. i liked her alot. been friends for 2 years now. when i first wanted to kinda talk te her and stuf my friends kinda fucked it up and thats a whole other story. but 2 weeks ago or somethin' we texted eachother all night long and she kinda led me on and few minutes later i kinda got my heart broken. i was in the ''friend'' zone -_- i curse the next thting she said to me: ''but we can still be friends right?''
@Farrdaddy1 You'll be cool man, just dont look to God. You may as well talk to a brick. Big bang and all that, evolution, dinosaurs, early man, space and time. Nothing against having positive hope, but come on!!!
stonesour is one of the most amazing bands i have seen live ,the live performance is even better than the studio album ,guys go one for years youre music is fucking good
i definitely agree with Jim up top the vocals seem to be the only part of the song i can get any emotion from i play the drums, guitar, bass parts...they are just so dead and dont have any musical feeling to the riffs just simple, generic, and seemed like they were written by a mediocre guitarist....but idk it jus might not of been what hee was going for thats jus ma opinion :)
Is it just me or does it seem the song is influenced by Nutshell? Either way this album is incredible, I really like how the line between Stone Sour and Slipknot keeps getting wider (love both bands though)
check out stone sours 94' demo. this album is amazing because not only does it show how they have grown as a band but also how they are not afraid to stay in touch with those roots that made them amazing even back then. corey didnt start getting into the heavy singing until he joined up with rival band slipknot where he was aloud to express the dark side of rock. I can really relate to the scenarios and situations described and its amazing how good i feel just knowing that someone out there...
This doesn't feel like the old stone sour or sound like them..i mean, i know they said they were gonna try something new and maybe it won't sound like them..but it really doesn't sound like them lol. But, they still got it and hope they make a 4th album alittle more on the heavy side.
this sounded quite boring... i'm disappointed with stone sour, this album is like really bad compared to their other albums o.O don't hate me, just told my opinion.
@Shadowpuff70 wow man that is sad u have my heart dude sorry to hear about ur mom makes me cry i feel your pain be strong call me in san diego 6198201145 i saw stone sour in seattle last year and it was awesome
after listening to all 3 albums, i have realized the way the band is evolving, audio secrecy is the best album of the three & if and when they make a fourth, my prediction is that it will kick a very large quantity of ass...
@27sliver27 yeah lets hope so, i agree with ur idea of them evolving into what they are now, they sorta moved out of Slipknots shadow even though SS were around before
I wish it was my natural language, but I try my best, so I drank my beer and talk a lot confused things to corey, and I'm sure: HE IS THE MAN ! (not for me, for the music) =D
I love the feeling in this fucking great music <3

@brunobb1 All copyrighted music is a product and both Slipknot and Stone Sour have always been commercial. Slipknot are one of the most prolific bands in the world at the moment (and before you say THEY sold out, consider that their first two albums are their most successful). Just because a band's sound is screamy doesn't mean it's not mainstream. Hell, in modern rock music, it seems like you can't get anywhere WITHOUT screaming.
@ScrabbitTheRabbit hey, HEY! dude, calm down...I didn't say that Slipknot sold out! On the contrary, I think that they matured their music but the new Stone Sour album is just strait up pop...it's the truth. And no, corey doesn't need to scream to sound heavy...the thing is that SS'S NEW ALBUM IS POP
@brunobb1 I didn't mean to come off as confrontational, it can be hard not to on the internet though XD. But yeah, I wouldn't care if you did, I greatly dislike Slipknot and I'm not the hugest Stone Sour fan either. My point was that both bands have always had a very mainstream sound, borderlining on essentially being pop to start with. Very heavy pop, but pop is defined as music designed to appeal to the masses, which entails both this and early SS and Slipknot.
@ScrabbitTheRabbit but that surely means that metallica, iron maiden, avenged sevenfold, trivium, lamb of god etc. etc. are pop. As we all know pop is a different thing now, it started off as an abbreviation for popular but now it is a whole different genre. Stone Sour and Slipknot are at least rock. They certainly are not pop.
@bruneypaws1 Either way you look at it, whether it could be defined as pop or not, is it really selling out if their original sound was so marketable to start with?
This album is beautiful. I've heard alot of albums recently. This, is one of my top. Stone Sour was one of those bands that you'd always make a drink to, lean back, and just before you thought you were satisfied, found your mind drifting through a soundful labyrinth. Stone Sour, my respects again go out to you.
this entire album just further shows the amazing things corey can do with his voice and the deep poetic lyrics he can write. you can call this new album too "commercial" or "mainstream" if you want, but i don't believe his lyrics are simple enough to fit that title. and if they wanna go mainstream, it's making them a bunch of money in the progress, so more power to you guys!
"Just for once I'll go to the front and tell you all disagree. You won't last all you got is the past the real mcgoy looking in your eyes the american selfish everything"
these lyrics don't make any scence at all and yes, it is too comercial.
well if that's what you think the lyrics to that verse are then of course they don't make any sense to you. besides that, when has Corey ever written a song that just blatantly said what he wanted to say? what would make a song commercial is leaving creativity in the dust and dumbing the lyrics down so they can be interpreted by a 5 yr old. as if poetics were no option.
@Undead461 Well Corey isn't the only one that writes lyrics. On this album, all five members contributed lyrically and musically. So don't give corey all the credit. I agree with you though, if the listeners classify this as mainstream, oh well, it's good so who cares.
Wow....this song seriously gave me chills for such a long time and only a few songs do that to me. Well done Stone Sour amazing song, amazing message. 0 dislikes just the way it should be :)
i hate when people say they love a band and then when they go in a different direction, they completely shun the music. music is about progression. you don't expect them to keep doing the same ol' music. STONE SOUR is a very good band. people seem to forget that Corey can ACTUALLY sing.
@spititoutpurity Stone Sour is a very good band and Corey sings, but that doesn't mean that they have to be comercial as fuck. this album wasn't very good
This has easily got to be one of the nicest and best songs ever, not just on the album but of any song in any genre. Lyrics, singing, melodies, drumming, everything is just so perfectly put together, Corey has come a very long way from '99 with Slipknot and you can tell he's progressed very well with his vocals and lyrics. Love this song, listened to it about 10 times so far, cannot get enough of it.
i know corey is a big alice in chains fan. this definately shows in this song. the opening is so much like 'nutshell'..and have to agree with the dude underneath. definately the best song
that influence definitely comes through on this album. they used a lot of harmonics and a wide variation of effects and tunings that give it that old 90's feel to it. they really put some time into this album instead of cranking out the same old riffs in drop-d tuning with fast drumming. although, i see nothing wrong with that either. haha.
Corey Taylor strikes again, absolute legend :D

This song remind me Nutshell by Alice in Chains

This has easily got to be one of the nicest and best songs ever, not just on the album but of any song in any genre. Lyrics, singing, melodies, drumming, everything is just so perfectly put together, Corey has come a very long way from '99 with Slipknot and you can tell he's progressed very well with his vocals and lyrics. Love this song, listened to it about 10 times so far, cannot get enough of it.

i know corey is a big alice in chains fan. this definately shows in this song. the opening is so much like 'nutshell'..and have to agree with the dude underneath. definately the best song

@lewismofo
that influence definitely comes through on this album. they used a lot of harmonics and a wide variation of effects and tunings that give it that old 90's feel to it. they really put some time into this album instead of cranking out the same old riffs in drop-d tuning with fast drumming. although, i see nothing wrong with that either. haha.
