@murjax The horn they used for this game is a Leslie Typhoon, this is the same horn that was used on the Pennsy GG1's, they sounded just like that in real life.

@undertaker11ism I know. The way I record the audio involves connecting the mic and headphone ports and when I do that I can't hear anything from the speakers. I had no idea this was happening lol.

@Cazkumali When your train stops, release the brakes, and wait about 60 seconds before applying throttle. Of course penalty cut outs are completely unrealistic. In the real world that only happens if you run a stop signal. You should download the MSTS update from Microsoft and MSTS BIN. Those disable the penalty brake.

usually when I hear HPP8's they don't have horn's but why does this simulator use a horn????????

@randallcook1 Are you kidding me? All locomotives that I know of have horns. I'm curious, where do you live? In some locations trains aren't allowed to use their horns except in an emergency. A few of these spots include Mystic, CT and New York's Penn Station.

No it's a computer game called Microsoft Train Simulator. You get to actually drive the train, meaning you control the throttle, brakes, reverser, pantograph, doors, etc. The game is almost ten years old so it lacks realistic scenery or AI passengers.

Cool video, but not too realistick scenary wise. There propbably isn't an undeveloped square foot between D.C. and Baltimore, except maybe along the tracks. But beyond the trees, no farms, no open spaces, etc.

Welcome to the world of Train Simulator. I have personally traveled this portion of the NEC in real life and know exactly what you're talking about. Scenery in this game is very unrealistic. There are some good routes people have made which look much more realistic than this. I would check out the Pacific Surfliner route. It was a former payware route, but the company selling it shut down, so now it's being sold on Ebay for a cheap price, or just given away to people. It's a great route.

I personally can't help you with this issue, although I do suggest making a bulletin about this. You'll have a better chance of finding someone that can help you that way.

i like them cuz they are big machines. u never hear anyone say, OH time to go carspotting!! lol TRAINZ RULE. it was funny. today me and my dad were driving back towards out house and the defect detector came on and said, milepost 467.3. We were driving next to the tracks and saw milepost 463 so we sat and 2 minutes later it came by. lol
