I know that you sad it in the R.ludroth vid that if you are in sword mode with the Switch Axe it is best to use the vertical attacks but the best thing to do is do a horizontal and a vertical attack directly after each other. Thumbs up for great playing anyways

It's a little known fact that you can shorten the the burst attack by holding down on the analogue stick. This helps if you want to conserve sharpness.

ok since i'm a rookie i need help. I have just defeated Barroth offline and am on 1 star online. I usually use light bowgun/bone switchaxe (though i can use s & s and lance). I also use full jaggi armour for both. What armour and weapons are a good choice next? Online i take far too many big hits so what armour? Also, what is an easy way to make money, since i run out of potions far too quickly for my liking.

@ThePokekid78 Monster Hunter isn't about taking hits. You'll learn to eventually dodge more often and monster attack timings. I'm playing MHFU on psp and I have 337 defence atm. I'm pretty much required to use max/ancient potions before I start the quest otherwise I can get 1 hit.

I failed the quest twice because he used his charge attack twice in a row. the first time, I get hit by it, then as i get up he charges again. I tried to dodge but the hit box for the attack was being a bitch and wouldn't let me and I failed. The second time, I tried to dodge the charge attack but then get hit by a Jaggi back into the range of the attack! Then he charges again! I try to dodge but I get stunned and get hit and fail again!

i've prepared myself for this fight like if I tried to fight Shepard... But in the first three times I forgot to bring the Tranq bombs with me, which of course rendered everything useless I tried so I had to fight him to the end XD

I have a +10 perception charm and I love it ^_^

Got a cap quest? Throw it on! Not a cap quest? +5 evasion on Quru for evasion +2 is awesome for a lot of monsters.

The switch axe has such weird sharpness. Either its sharpness is crazy insanely good (Demonbind, Fire Tempest), or is stupidly crappy (Amber Slash, Break Series)

Ihav a question. Were r the little pixel thing worth 5hits each? Is it that small like line on the bottom of the sword tht shows ur sharpness?

@quttro123 Stare really closely at the sharpness gauge. Each little line is worth 5 hits.

Would you advise doing the dull sharpness tactic in tri with hammer or GS? Ive been doing it for a while with the hammer, and I find it VERY good for KO's.

I often wonder how many people think the Switch Axe is actually the most powerful, because of it having big numbers.

Bouncing to attack fast? That's quite an interesting idea!

@HJNprod The overhead chop does a lot of damage. Even bouncing it's likely to do more damage than any of the other attacks would at normal sharpness (haven't don the math, but go with guts!)

@SocialDissonance Wow, that's just pretty awesome and impressive! And you can do the overhead chop that fast? Then it's probably one of the best tactics to bounce.

@joshfignewton i had it by default on 240p and it was seriously blurry. Maybe it was that, just set the resolution to 480p and there ya go.
