Quit acting like the Fairtax is even SANE!! Its not even sane. Its a huge bit of nonsense. It has the government paying a huge percent of its OWN taxes. The Navy would pay 1 billion tax on submarines. This wont work. Plus, many groups will get exemptions - and the rate will be OVER 50%, and people will create huge blackmarkets to avoid it. It will be a nightmare. Wake the heck up.

A high national sales tax -- 40% or more -- has never been tried on this planet. No one -- nobody, taxes a new house 40%. Why? Cause it would destroy new house market. But these morons would. Nobody taxes medical operations 40% -but these morons would. These morons even have gov purchases paying this idiot sales tax -- thats 40% more cost for everything the defense department buys - is 40% higher. Its absolutely insane. It doesnt even slow down at stupid.

Smoke and mirrors. Hey emporer -- you have no clothes on. You logic is absurd, your math is wacko. For one thing, it cant be 23% -- it has to be at least 40%, and maybe as high as 60. And that tax is on everything -- on new homes, on cars, on medical cost even. Imagine a 60% sales tax on a new home. New home sales would go craps. Imagine a 60% sales tax on medical cost. Its insane.

The "Fair Tax" idea is a scam created by the Church of Scientology because they were at war with the IRS for not granting their cult tax exempt status. Google up the facts if you want to read more. OpinionJournal has a recent article that exposes the whole thing.

FAIRTAX 2.0++: Retailers MUST only collect FairTax on paper/coin money! ONLY US Banks should charge FairTax when an individual makes an electronic payment, because it is cheaper for THEM to do so than RETAILERS-THEY ARE ALSO A THIRD PARTY TO BOTH BUYER AND SELLER SO THEY WON'T CHEAT. Foreign card holders should be able to buy US products without FairTax! US banks should charge US consumers FairTax for spending in foreign countries! The gov't should NOT tax its own spending! Give BANKS the job!

factcheck(dot)org proves this does not benefit middle-income taxpayers. Read Un-Spinning the Fair Tax, May 07. Other Accounting experts come to the same conclusion as Pres. Bush's own conservative task force which said this plan hurts middle-income and gave more tax cuts to the rich. And the PREBATE is another WELFARE handout. And small business owners will be free to cheat by keeping the extra 30% and not recording sales.

The Fair-Tax is the Unfair-Tax Scam. LIE#1 The 23% National Sales Tax they tell you is a Flat-Lie unless you failed middle-school math. Yes the book uses a math trick to suck you into thinking 23% instead of 30%. It is a 30% National Sales Tax plus Local Sales Taxes which average 6% for a total 36% sales tax. The average American pays less than 25% federal tax now. But what do you expect from people who failed math.

You have to understand the difference between an INCLUSIVE tax and an EXCLUSIVE tax. Its a simple matter of how you approach the math. Either way you will still be paying the same amount. And that amount is indeed 23%.

Its a lot more that 23%. The 23% figure was optimistic estimate just to replace INCOME tax. Now, they say the 23% replaces income and cap gains and social securty and inheritance and corporate taxes. At a minimu -- the sales tax to replace all thse would be 50%. Then add state sales tax. Thats a 57% extra cost on almost everything -- even new houses. ON medical cost. On everything. Its insane. This emporer has no clothes.

I'm all in favor of the FairTax, HR25. Wish the young folks could understand how complex and wasteful the current system is. They're the ones that'll benefit from the national sales tax and the repeal of Ammendment 16.

HR25 is the first step in showing what idiots you people are. I want you to pass this law. To replace all federal taxes --it would have to be a hell of a lot higher that 23%.

(sigh) Telling us to simple refuse to pay taxes is not going to help. The ammount we pay in taxes rose to the current ammount over 75 years or so. We can't drop it down to zero overnight. Before it can begin to lower, we HAVE to get people mad. That's best done by posting the percentage on each sales reciept, as the FairTax will do.
