  • What none of you newbs understand: the REASON he's making smoke is because he has HUGE turbos and is "brake-boosting" to help spool the turbos AS LOW in the RPM's as he can. It's how you Get big torque #'s.

    Like you do on the starting line in drag-racing w/ any turbo'd motor. Except here, it's done turning, in gear closest to 1:1 drive ratio, (w/ engine at about 1200RPM).

    You stand on brakes to spool the turbo and build enough boost that when u let off brakes & floor it, boost shoots up fast!

  • @FMCC14 nope not at all diesel smoke is way too dense and falls back to earth but its so spread out by then when the diesel returns to the ground its such a small amount in one spot it wouldn't even hurt a termite.

  • @rcrocker02 theres plenty of bell housing adapters. i talked to a guy local who had the allison behind his cummins put stupid amounts of money into and just couldnt handle to tourque the cummins motor has to put down. its not the hp that kills the trans buddy. and the facts show that time and time again cummins always puts out the most tourque

  • @wildstyleracing cummins dont necesarily always put down more torque stock atleast but they are notorious for unbeatable low rpm grunt my buddy has an 01 powerstroke and trailering cars to ohio i would blow his doors off coming out of the toll booths but he would pull me at 80mph all day long all depends on what u wnat and cummins are way cheaper to make big power out of

  • @krieg213 allison trannys are overpriced overglorified junk, anyone who knows what they are doing can build an m1 to be as reliable as an allison, and the 6.6 duramax doesnt have enough displacement to hold what the ford 7.3 can hold, and the 5.9 cummins has no electrical and the p-pumps are better than anything GM could ever think of.

  • @erik42355 Problems with the 6.0 and 6.4 are mainly due to the US having shitty diesel fuel. The engines were designed in europe where the fuel is filtered to a higher standard. If you want to keep your engine running for a long time, get an aftermarket inline filter for the fuel. It will save you a huge repair bill on the injectors.

  • @GodprefersDiesels oh no my daily driver doesnt have 30000 hp and 9800000000 ft/ilbs torque, what am i doing with my life. actually, all i did was tune the truck 600hp and 900ft/ilbs torque,thats it. nothing else was done motor wise. i could try for the full 1200 ft/ilbs, but thats completly unreasonable on a daily, im fine right where im at. i dont have a programmer, i did it all on computer, no line pressure changes or anything, hence the low #'s

The allison is great until you add extra power then it will hate you, most people ignore that fact until they have blown their tranny then claim allison sucks. My vote goes to suncoast for building rugged ass trans setups for all makes

  • @blondeguy08 BULL SHIT. There is not a stock pickup trans that can handle 700 HP my friend. They all slip once you are over 420-430 HP. Some can handle more power than others, (like the ford trans vs. a dodge 68RFE) but NON can take 700 HP stock. F*ckin Ford fanboys.

  • allison is a good tranny I think overall Ford has the most solid frame,axles and running gear Dodge has the motor and Chevy has the Allison as far as each brands strengths and weaknesses.. Ford well the 6.0 is legandary the 6.4 is becoming less popular but i'm sure that'll turn around and dodge..tranny the whole front end has a history.. GM? Front end snap crackle pop

  • allison doesn't shift well you punch it on the highway it kicks out of gear and it takes a couple seconds for it to engage- i feel the ford 6 speed is a much better option. and the 6.0 is legendary but not for quality your thinking of the 7.3 and the 6.4 is a great engine

  • Well the Allison transmission in general.. has a reputation as solid as the Cummins motor reputation. The 6.0 has number of lawsuits because people died in the ambulances as the motors failed for design flaws. Look it up and yea the 7.3 is a torque monster love it and the 6.4 I am undecided all I hear is it sucks immense amounts of fuel to deliver the same torque the cummins 6.7 does

  • They had problems with the afterburners, and flames shooting out the exhaust, just one of the problems actually.

  • like darkmp40 said, the afterburners, and the pulley system wasn't all that good, but there are kits you can buy to eliminate all that and get additional horsepower and torque

  • the allison is an awesome transmission when they work.....  ive had an 01 LB7 and 05 LLY and both have had more than one transmission. the 01 was on its third and the 05 its secound when i sold them

  • powerstrokes HEUI fuel system/oil sytem 2 in 1 will never be able to support the power that a dmax can put out on stock fuel sytem with efi live. the dmax and commonrail cummis both use a gear driven CP3 injection pump and it simply is the greatest inj. pump since cummins put the p7100 pump on the cummins that you can hook a fire hose too. i can see efi live for 7.3's but dont expect the power uppage as a dmax, efi live is not made for cummins,theres a programmer called "smarty" thats the shit.

  • If im right there is a program for the newere cummins like efi live. Only thing is verry pricey VERY. Ill have to find the link. Anyway it would not work on this truck since it is a 12valve.
