229 lbs dry.... add fuel, added plastic gaurds aftermarket rubber ect and fuel and 300 comes quick...... the average wet weight of a yz250 varies between 250 and 300 depending on the ammount of crap people add and the fuel tankage people run...

and for the record dry weight between a 2 stroke 250 and 4 stroke 450 is roughly 12 lbs... and 7 of those pounds are oil and water for lube and cooling the 450... so which motocross bike used is moot... the HD evil rode was twice the weight with roughly the same power output.... jump length is a function of speed, and ramp angle against gravity and weight being launched

Records are made to be broken. If the technology had not changed someone will still have out distanced Evil. What most people seem to be missing is the computer tech that is used to determine how high and far a bike will go with a given speed and ramp design. They pick a distance and design around it. Evil just said I am gonna jump that and tried to figure out how to do it. He was a showman and was willing to try anything to put on a good show. I give cudos to any one who has the balls to try.
