The BRADY BUNCH is truely an amazing occurence! its longivity proves just how

successful it has become,since its ABC debut in 1969. but really-this 1990 CBS

spin-off was very hard to watch! no offence to all these marvelous actors,who made

this happen,,but this was not something i could watch! that is,,until Feb 1995,when

"THE BRADY BUNCH MOVIE"" was released-that was a great hit,because every

Brady fact was exploited-and Bonnie and Terry Turner sure knew how to do this!!

@topsoil7 But here's one of the problems the show would've faced in the long-term: Robert Reed was ill and in the beginning stages of AIDS at the time The Bradys aired in '90, and the illness would've likely forced him to give up his role had it survived. Also working against the show's survivability was the bad Friday night time slot and the constant production problems which led to quarrels with CBS.

What's with the random laugh tracks? The laugh tracks worked in the 70s, but not in this new show. And Alice should have stopped calling them Mr. and Mrs. Brady and called them by their first names, she's known them for nearly 30 years and stilled called them that?

@reesespieces22 Because of the awful ratings (due in part to the terrible Friday night time slot), the network told the producers to add a laugh track - it was that bad. CBS thought that they could turn this one-hour dramatic show into a "dramedy." If they were trying to lure viewers away from Full House and Family Matters, this strategy backfired big-time.

Martha Quinn was hands-down my favorite MTV veejay. She reminded me a little of the woman who did Romper Room in the 80's. But I digress. I remember thinking that was the absolute coolest development and she would marry Bobby. Greg marrying The New Gidget was pretty awesome too. In fact between those two and the fake Marcia there were some real knockouts on this show...in addition to the originals.
