You can say that again! It ain't nothin they ever done...I dunno what to classify it as...rock/pop/country/gospel is what it is...n some songs would be all 4...lol...For me it had to grow on me, at first I didn't like it but a few songs but the more I listened the better I like it...I can sing all the songs now n like em...I still like them as country...actual country music...But hopefully they come out with many more albums...I love the Oak Ridge Boys...
Original "I Ain't Never " written and performed by Mel Tillis, but more popular version was by Webb Pierce in 1959 as a Country/popular charts hit. "Elvira" was early 60s as a rhythm and blues hit. I, personally, prefer the Oaks stuff like "Y'all Come Back Saloon." But that's just me!!
Steve Sanders was an unstable piece of crap.. couldn't handle sucess

You bet some songs are worth repeating, and some family members are more than worth seeing again. Rest in peace my brother-in-law Steve Sanders.

Got to where they couldn't do original material. Remakes of "Elvira" and "I Ain't Never". Sad, but true.

They have a new album out tomorrow, like nothing else they've ever done. I'm really excited for it.

I like John Fogerty's singing on this
Shewolf97x 4 years ago
Fogarty did a great respectful cover of Webb's original (down to the guitar break) of this on his "Blue Ridge Rangers" recording.

I love the bluesy piano on this! Then that electric guitar that is just right and not overwhelming. As usual,The Boys' harmonizing is outstanding.
Thanks for sharing,Kyle!
