@mychalsimonzmusic He could have been using a full mixing board or one of the small devices you can hook inline with an audio source and the speakers to remove the bass .
Just checked out james jameson11 with Marvin Gaye in what s going on AWESOME dude does play with 1 finger!!! how cool is that and how many of u can do it"""
James Jamerson was the best. And yes he referred to his finger as the hook. James set the bass playing tone for many to come. Its too bad he died at only 43. Google James Jamerson and you can read about him. Its very interesting. Best wishes.
Good one... got it nailed down pretty good... to 1funkyangel's comment, the bassline to I Want You Back isn't played by Jamerson but by Wilton Felder of the Jazz Crusaders, lil' bass historical tidbit :)
Actually, on the recording the bass is "on top" and many of those notes that people play on the beat are anticipated. (Though the bridge is a bit rushed here). E is a tad sharp but nothing to bust on you for.
Good job! I don't know how the hell Jermaine played that bass line LIVE, while dancing his ass off, singing background, and sharing the lead with Michael towards the end of the song!
In 1971 there were these people name kyle and emily and they claim to see people next morning the guy vame in and saw nailtips mark. If u dont send this to 5 people they will come and visit!
PLEASE DONT READ THIS!In 1971 a guy named Kyle an his girlfriend Emily were in side a house that was said to claim peoples lives if they entered the house. The next morning a guy named Alex saw fingernail marks on the door.if you dont post this to 5 videos, youll be getting a visit from Kyle and Emily tonight!WARNING:this has been proved to be real,i value my life!whoever reads this may God be with you! I TRULY DO APOLOGIZE!!! PS i got this from another vid ( i am not taking my chances
OR an easier way is by downloading the programme called 'Tube Tilla' which was featured here on Youtube too for abs free where you can convert Youtube videos into WMV,MP4 and MP3 formats in under a minute tops.
i had thought this was jamerson for years didnt find out otherwise until like 2 years ago that it was felder. i feel like i hear a difference in the lines now that i know it's not jamerson, like a little less chromatic than jamerson perhaps?
I think Jamerson was scared to fly or something like that, thats why he didnt end up playing this bassline? You should check out the documentary Standing In The Shadows of Motown, it talks about the Funk Brothers who were the epitomy of the entire Motown sound. Some great stuff on Jamerson in there too.
