its been a while since i've hated on this guy but jowkdd is right.. the vocal paterns and the chord progression is exactly the same as that dylan song.. like seriously i just listened to it on the youtube here and it really really is not his song. maybe his words.. which isn't saying much
this chord structure has been used numerous times, but usually bands take their own angle with them by changing the melody/voice and/or time signatures and rhythm. this is a blatant ripoff of Dylan's "I Want You" (i actually thought it was a cover when i first heard it) because even the melody remains the same - including the lowering in pitch in the second part of the verse - as the Dylan original.
Every tone has been played already.. if you look for originality why don't you people listen to someone who has invented a brand new instrument.. geez.. This guy's just expressing his feelings through this song.

I've heard of plagiarism, listen songs like Tom Petty's Mary's Last Dance and Dani California, is a perfecty example of what is just common chord structure, and after listening to this Vanilla Ice seemed legit its a good song but I just can't listen to it without feeling cheated.
Who really cares what a crooked crecendo is man ...a song can stray from fact or diction... not everything has to be weighed out perfectly... thats boring. It's about creating imagery.. and it's called poetic liscense.
it's something about where the verses are coming from that bugs me out. all added up, it's too much like one song. I can't agree with criticisms of Brett's voice. I like it. The guitar playing sets it off nicely, kind of like a polished stone mounted in a suitable setting.
i think he's exactly the kind of quirky dude to cause some buzz and get there. his guitar technique is simple and effective, his voice broken enough to matter, and his lyrics are kind of endearing, to the extent that the alliterations actually don't sound too bad.
I can't believe how hung up people are on how this guy looks. He's so talented and from what I've seen has a really cool personality. Actually, I think he looks a lot cooler than most of the chumps who try so hard to look like everyone else.

I'm sick of you idiots. The melody sounds "slightly" similar Dylan's, but his style is completely different, and his voice is on the opposite end of the spectrum. Plus, it's not like this guy sat down one day and said "I like this song, I'm just going to take it and no one will notice." Just enjoy the music. Great song.

its been a while since i've hated on this guy but jowkdd is right.. the vocal paterns and the chord progression is exactly the same as that dylan song.. like seriously i just listened to it on the youtube here and it really really is not his song. maybe his words.. which isn't saying much

He may very well be a talented musician, but concerning this particular song - Dylan could probably sue if he cared to (he doesn't).

this chord structure has been used numerous times, but usually bands take their own angle with them by changing the melody/voice and/or time signatures and rhythm. this is a blatant ripoff of Dylan's "I Want You" (i actually thought it was a cover when i first heard it) because even the melody remains the same - including the lowering in pitch in the second part of the verse - as the Dylan original.

all chord structure has been done I will give it that but this is just TOO close having a common chord progression is ok, but having an exact rhythm of chord progression strumming style vocal melody and vocal structure is down right stealing..its too much to just be considered "coincidence"

I've heard of plagiarism, listen songs like Tom Petty's Mary's Last Dance and Dani California, is a perfecty example of what is just common chord structure, and after listening to this Vanilla Ice seemed legit its a good song but I just can't listen to it without feeling cheated.

Who really cares what a crooked crecendo is man ...a song can stray from fact or diction... not everything has to be weighed out perfectly... thats boring. It's about creating imagery.. and it's called poetic liscense.

it's something about where the verses are coming from that bugs me out. all added up, it's too much like one song. Of course I wish i could write songs that were this close to something from bringin it all back home, but I don't know if I'd put it on my album or on a radio show. But Dylan...he's a master theif, you can be in awe of how and what he stole.

I can't agree with criticisms of Brett's voice. I like it. The guitar playing sets it off nicely, kind of like a polished stone mounted in a suitable setting.

i think he's exactly the kind of quirky dude to cause some buzz and get there. his guitar technique is simple and effective, his voice broken enough to matter, and his lyrics are kind of endearing, to the extent that the alliterations actually don't sound too bad.
