  • please tell me the title.

  • @EagleShin

The song is call L's Bop. It is a Lenny White composition.

  • @guspickle thank you so much:)

  • Has anyone noticed that Stanley Clarke plays the exact same walking line every chorus? That kinda ruined this video for me. Love Chick and Joe, though.

  • Does anybody know what year this clip is from?

  • @MrDriller36

me recorded it in 1988-1990, do not know it for sure. According to the collars and shirts :-) it must be from some 1980-1985. #k.

  • @MrDriller36 Its from 1988 i think, i had this on VHS video called "Chic Corea", I was always amazed at Stanley Clarkes performance on this Video.

  • Man. Lenny's energy was so intense, he had to run and shake off the power of the his solo during his solo. Classic!

  • just genious! nothing more to add!

by the way, what's the name of this piece?

  • 2:30 - Chick is laughing at Joe

4:45 - 5:25 - Stanley wants Joe to end his solo and gets pissed

    Great shit

  • @zyglorb i doubt it. i don't know what you're implying by "chick is laughing at joe", but i agree that he's joyous mainly because henderson beautifully complemented his phrase. however, stanley clarke is not "pissed" at joe henderson for any reason. it's the facial expression many musicians make when they're really into the time or vice versa. henderson is generally considered brilliant, and certainly by the musicians he expressed himself with

  • @FabledSoup No, Joe is good, but just not up to par with Chick and Stanley, and Lenny. I'm pretty sure what I stated was true. Watch it again. If anything, Stanley is definitely pissed.

  • @zyglorb you cannot assert these relative phrases "he's good, but not as good as..." to verify your judgments on these artists. If you watch Chick Corea's instructional video on youtube he cites Henderson as a massive influence. he is, e.g. well known for combining many of the musical dynamics of miles and coltrane. For my part, I feel that you have misjudged the expressions of the musicians, however that's irrelevant compared to the diminishment of joe's artistry, you can google these people!

  • this is the shit! haile mr joe henderson!

  • JUST FANTASTIC!. I actually met Joe Henderson at Bakers Keyboard Lounge in Detroit. What a fantastic individual.. Totally committed to his art. I was very impressed. I had him sign my Freddie Hubbard Red Clay album because I was so in awe of his efforts in that album. Great Memories... Thanks!

  • When was the Bakers performance? I play tenor and only saw Joe here in Detroit one time, and that was with Joanne Brackeen (spelling?) at the DIA years ago!

  • all stars right here! sorry folks it doesn't get any better

  • Great Video! Thanks for uploading!
