although it's only 2 channels you can still put multiple inputs into each channel and then select which source you want to use with the toggles at the top. I suppose a 4 channel mixer is ideal for using more than 2 sources, but this can be used just as effectively.

well, you can have up to four inputs into the mixer. It has got a little tab above the gain controls that allow you to select which input will be played through the chanel. Each channel has two possible inputs. a dedicated CD input, and a phono/any other line input, so technically you can plug into each channel a CD player and a turntable, but you'd only be able to use one at any given time. hope that makes sense!!

umm well i'm pretty sure you can use it with serato scratch. If you wanted to use it with ableton live, you'd have to buy an external USB sound card which you can plug into your mixer, and use the channel controls on the mixer to control ableton....you'd probably also need a USB midi controller for other functions. I'd say that if you wanted to use ableton for DJing, it's better off to get a dedicated midi controller, maybe look at a DJ called "Surkin", he does that

You can run scratch live on ANY mixer with ANY cdj's or vinyl turntables. Thats the beauty of it! The mixer doesn't affect serato at all. Hope that helps
