Just saw her 3 days ago in Tulsa. The show was incredible. It was a fundraiser with seats on the floor selling for as much as $25000.00 but after the 3rd song Joss went into the crowd of $50.00 seats singing and dancing and told EVERYONE to come down on the floor to make it a REAL GIG a couple hundred people followed before security could stop them . They finished the show amongst the tables with the wine glasses and candles I'm sure pissing of the rich folks who had paid so much.

Let's say, Joss Stone is the first girl of "this generation" that started singing neo-soul-R&B kind of music. Amy Winehouse came later, she has a different style but I think she's just as good as Stone. And those girls that appeared last or this year, Adele, Duffy, Gabriella Cilmi (and more are to appear, believe me)are quite good too, but I think they are just imitating Winehouse (except for Duffy perhaps), and they don't really know where this style came from.

I think she's the real thing. From what I've seen she seems to be a happy, hard working, talented young woman with a good heart and a long carrier ahead of her. It's hard to compare, each generation brings a new wave of talent. There's many to like and for me she's one of the best.

as for joss screamin Janis Joplin, Aretha Franklin, Lauryn Hill, all do it (yes true they do) but thats part of soul music letting you feels out, really getting into the song not just singing words, you have to admit Joss is a load better singer than other british females that have totally copied joss "blue eyed british soul singer" thing thats now a fashion (which joss started)compare joss' voice with Amy Winehouse,Adele,Duffy,joss is better singin wise (though Duffy is bloodly great too)

There were brtish singers who came before Joss and really paved the way for soul music. Like Dusty Springfield, Lisa Stansfield, Floetry, Beverly Knight who I beleive posesses more versatility than Joss, Sade Adu and Terri Walker

Joss has not made any stepping stones in music the only sucess she had was crossing into mainstream sucess but overall she has not really done anything out of the ordinary.

She is a copier more than anything check out Nikka Costa who is one of the funky soul girl she came way before Joss.

The retro sound she puts in the music Sharon Jones did it first she came out in 1996 check her out.

joss has never tryed to sing soul music she loves that style of music but really her label made an image to sell records which is why she really changed on her third album listen to some of the songs there (some are on youtube) joss is kind of Neo-soul/RnB style music you can tell she loves soul music though her songs but joss' music is quite different to 60's soul singers i have a very wide range of music tastes don't like to listen to only one type thats boring.

Are you guys really into soul music? becuase Joss Stone is nothing compared to Aretha she has a good voice but she is not no prime time vocalists i saw her at a festival and her voice gets very shrilly and she screams to hard.

She is good nut she is not hardly touching Aretha or Lauryn Hill's level

Miss Stone, just for your info this song is originally from the album David Byrne by the artist of the same name.He is Scottish but lives in US. He did not do this one with Brian Eno.

Eno wasnt involved in this song. Buck Naked is from Byrne's 1994 solo album...at that point Eno hadnt been around for about 13 years. David Byrne is just amazing, isn't he? Wow...whoa....hey!

It is a silly song but is shows once again that JOSS IS THE BEST FEMALE VOCALIST OUT TODAY. The part from 1:50 to 4:00 minutes is almost right up there with Aretha Franklin in her heyday.
