@Matamune87 you're kind of right, however, it is still martial arts but it is in the demonstration form, its very common in china, it may not teach self defense of course but most of the techniques have a strong root from several martial arts, because the movements are a little similar, think of it as "martial arts dancing" lol.

The Chinese government was infamously known for destroying their own culture during the cold war era especially with the Cultural Revolution. Though the Chinese government say they are all about culture, they produce pseudo garbage like wushu we know today.

THIS particular form of "wushu" is relatively new and was introduced for entertainment purposes not for combat. Thus its very artistic and acrobatic.

This being the most popularized form of Chinese MA gives a very false idea of what Chinese MA are actually like. A simple fact - all Asian MAs (Japan, Korea etc) are directly derived from Chinese ones, in many cases even the terminology wasnt changed.

@picklejarwontopen well, this video is about the artistic form of wushu. It basically is showing off, you show off your skill, agility and flexibility. As lame as this may appear to some - these guys are far more agile, flexible and technical that most full-contact fighters.

You know, there is more to martial arts than being able to kick someone in the face and then act as if its a heroic accomplishment.
