First...I am not a physician and even if I was I would not diagnosis anyone by email. I think you may very well need to be seen by a physician. Often viral lung infections often do not have mucus. The device demonstrated is used on patients with chronic lung disease that have significant mucus problems. Lastly, it is foolish to "by choice" not have health insurance.
I've had a raging cough for 4 days. It comes and goes, but when it comes it's uncontrollable. I feel junk coming lose in my chest a bit, but rarely does anything actually come up. I wonder if something like this is for me. Also, it looks quite exhausting like you would feel like you're suffocating. Lastly, what does a treatment like this cost? I don't have insurance :( [BY CHOICE mind you]
No this is not CPAP. In someways it is more like an aggressive flutter. On inspiration a high pressure inflates the lungs then on exhalation a rapids strong negative pressure help pull out secretions.
Our program is looking to purchase one...how much are you asking? Please contact me through my college email. dz001@lancastergeneralcollege.edu
I may not be checking it until Monday.
